The Memorable Day

Rakhi is a festival special for everyone

mother would make special rakhis

and sell it to make a living but her

yearning to tie rakhi herself on 

the brothers wrist was evident 

from her eyes. she never complained

about it but when all brothers and sisters

would come together for shopping she

would smile and feel happy looking at

them .

one fine day she got ready in the market

to sell her rakhis a boy came up and purchased

many rakhis my mother was happy but

perplexed as he purchased fifty rakhis.

Her day was made as it was a huge sale on

making the payment he asked its late 

you should go home and celebrate 

rakshabandhan with your brother but

she became sad and said i dont have one

he made the payment and went.

next day my mother saw a small child

running on the road a car was about to hit

him she went ahead to save the child and

got hurt badly her head was bleeding soon

with the help of my neighbour got her admitted

to the hospital and took the child along . soon

his father came and paid the bill and I was

surprised he was the same customer who

purchased fifty rakhis he said your mother has

saved my sons life I used to see her selling caps

on the signal always smiling and never complaining.

so from the stall purchased many rakhis but today

I understood the true meaning and essence of this

festival your mother saved her brothers son's life yes

from today she will tie rakhi on my wrist and will make

sure mother is fine and your education is my responsibillity.

that was a memorable day in my mothers life as she finally

had a brother to celebrate rakshabandhan with forever.
