"We have to stay together, Preeti. It's the only way we can survive in this place," asserted Rajat, hiding his teary eyes from her. Preeti scurried through the door before Rajat could even hold her hand.

Scared, Rajat followed her sifting the disheveled corridor to find a way out of this maze-like house. "I'm never gonna listen to you again after we get out of here. Why did we have to come to this haunted house for god's sake!" Rajat bawled.

They saw a door and Preeti quickly entered through it. Rajat immediately replicated and said, "Why aren't you listening to me? I'm your brother for crying out loud."

"I'm not gonna die here," murmured Preeti while shedding a tear, unable to say anything aloud. "I won't let you," claimed Rajat. Preeti took a chit out of her pocket, looked at it and while crumbling it, said, "We'll both get out of here alive."

"What's written on that chit, Preeti?" asked Rajat as Preeti galloped down the stairs she just came across as Rajat looked amazed admiring Preeti's bravery. "What's written on that fucking chit?" screamed Rajat as he ran after her. "She sure is fast," he thought as he lost sight of Preeti.

When he was halfway through, he heard a huge scream of a woman. "PREETI," he increased his paced as he kept screaming her name. After a minute, he saw Preeti on her knees outside a room sobbing like crazy. Rajat couldn't see the interior of the room, but he could see the exit door right beside it.

"Man, you scared the hell out of me. What happened? Why are you crying?" asked Rajat panting, slowly moving towards her, confused as to why they weren't leaving the premises and afraid of what he was about to find out.

Before he could reach her, Preeti stormed off through the exit door as fast as she could. He ran after her but when he reached the exit door, he somehow couldn't go through. He shouted, "Preeti, wait. I can't get out. I'm trapped here." But Preeti didn't stop.

Incredulous, Rajat frantically started looking for anything useful to help him get out of the house. While doing this, he stumbled upon a crumbled chit right beside the door by which Preeti was sobbing.

He picked up the chit and tried to read it. It read, "No matter how many of you entered, only one will be able to get out alive. The rest will meet their fate in this very house."
