It was a gray, cloudy afternoon when the first drops of rain began to fall in Aarav’s small town. Aarav, a cheerful seven-year-old, looked out his window and smiled; rainy days were his favorite. He quickly put on his bright yellow raincoat and matching boots, grabbed his little puppy Splash’s leash, and dashed outside.

Splash barked excitedly, wagging his tail as the rain tapped gently on the leaves. Aarav and Splash splashed through puddles, sending water flying like little fountains. They laughed together, their joy rising with every splash.

Nearby, Aarav spotted a paper boat floating in a puddle. Curious, he made his own and set it sailing. Soon, other kids joined him, each with their colorful paper boats. They raced their boats down the street streams, cheering as the wind and rain pushed them along.

The rain didn’t bother anyone; instead, it brought everyone closer. Aarav made new friends, shared stories, and felt the warmth of friendship despite the cool wet air.

As the rain slowed, Aarav led Splash back home, muddy and tired but happy. Inside, Meera, Aarav’s mother, welcomed them with warm towels and a cup of sweet chai. They sat by the window, watching the droplets slide down the glass.

Aarav sipped his tea and smiled, realizing that happiness wasn’t about staying dry or doing big things. It was in these simple moments—rain, laughter, friendship, and love.

And with Splash curled up beside him, Aarav knew any rainy day could be the happiest day.
