The Flip-Side

Dan and Dash, two twins. Dash, a classic prankster. Dan had remembered, the prank Dash had played on him. 

Somewhere, deep in his mind, a thought wriggled like a worm. Had Dash meant to do it? His twin brother had always been the good twin, his mother’s little angel, even though he always plays pranks. Dan was the bad one, the hassle. The reason which had stopped Dan’s thoughts of writing a story. Mom would never believe that he wrote the story! Did some part of Dash want Dan gone?

Dan closed his eyes, as he lay down to sleep. CRASH! He heard something fall down. Dan forced himself to open his eyes and look around.

He was in a hallway he had never seen before. He turned around looking at himself lying dead. “A little help please!” He cried. Was he really dead? Was this a nightmare?

Dan fell down from his bed. Turns out it WAS a nightmare.

Recollecting his previous thoughts, Dan opened the book which his great- great grandfather had written, PECULIAR ADVENTURES OF MY CHILDHOOD. It looked very old, somewhere from the 1800s, and was bounded in human skin. These books are very rare, and so they are very precious. “It’s very precious. I won’t let Dash damage it.” Dan whispered. “Should I wait till Dash and Mom go out for the doctor's appointment, or should I read it here?” Dan thought.
