The First Day

The First Day

First days of anything are prodigious to be remembered eternally. The day when our nerves are tight with loads of anticipations as well as sanguine expectations. We enter a campus, may be after too many fights with our parents regarding distinct choices before us, and when we cover the gate, the unfolded dreams and wishes gather around the cloudy mind.

Too many movies and fictions rushes to the mind. The campus, library, cafeteria, labs, workshops, buses, canteen, classrooms, exam halls, corridors… even the bitsy little things can give us so many memories. Once we enter the campus, the prayers of first days are like, 'Oh God, Please color my campus life like I have seen in my favorite movies'. But very soon we'll realize that it's never going to happen . And the fact is, we have already entered the hazardous point of life, by that time. The only thing left is to live, move on.

Speaking about the first day, it was fun filled... being a lilliputian in a crowded bus. The moment when I stepped out of the bus, I was after my belongings which were with others already. Bag somewhere, scarf somewhere, and the two friends who accompanied me... I couldn't even find them! So it started with something fun and later my tale went on, flavoring humor. I waited for almost an hour somewhere hoping the orientation class will start soon, when it had already started somewhere else. Then I walked awkwardly to my classroom. Entered the room with full hopes of becoming a good student. Unfortunately, found some people of my taste and odor.

As days passed, I was 'a pain in the ass' to many. But soon, I started loving my classroom, loving my people. I value them like a family. Apart from few things, I feel glorious that I have some people to laugh with me and make fun of me, to follow me everywhere I roam around, and of course to disturb the lectures together.

For those who love to write, campus offers too many tales. Behind every corridors and benches, there exist plenty of untold tales. For those who love to draw, unending characters surrounds you. For those who love to capture, every miniature item is worth to be framed. If one tries, the sky can be cleared and can be cultivated. Because one himself is the sculpture of his life. It is not about sitting at the heights always; It is about reaching the heights.

Even though only a quarter of my campus life has passed, still I can say, I have had enough moments to cherish forever, things to remember beyond forever. The people I have met and the small crazy little things I have encountered can create a sensation in my heart till my last days, because every small things count. Rather than criticising at every point, try to enjoy the moments. Because years later, all these stories will become a 'once upon a time' tale. When we get together we need something to shout out like 'do u remember the time when we used to….' and make others recollect those good old moments.

Life is pretty enough for those who taste it before its melting. Focus on your days. Less complaints, more happiness and satisfaction works well. When we leave the campus, we should smile thinking about all the good things occurred rather than complaining 'oh shit…I couldn't enjoy it well.'

The first days might be good or bad. It has nothing to do with the further days. Your life might go beyond your control. It is okay. No matter what happens, the last days should be worth portraying forever!

With love, A First Year B-Techie.
