Fairy, the firefly, was beating her wings hard in intense emotions. It was hard to gulp down the words that wounded her fragile heart. " your wings look small and they aren't shiny either...they look ugly," the last words kept replaying in her head. How Stacy could be so mean?. She was just a caterpillar when Fairy met her. They get along really well. Each day Stacy played with Fairy and they become intimate friends until she retired to pupa for transformation.

Fairy was excited to see her little friend's new wings. Along with Stacy's parents, she waited anxiously for her beautiful new outlook. After a few minutes, the pupa skin cracked open and Stacy appeared. She looked wonderful. Her bright pink wings truly complement her purple body. Fairy was glad to see her friend again ." Stacy....", She called and flew high to hug her. But she brushes her aside."You still didn't transform. We both are of the same age." She said and went away.

The fairy could not make out what she meant by it. Stacy's mother found Fairy when she was just a baby. She looked different from their crew. But everyone thought she was a baby caterpillar and will change soon. However, that change never came.

Grief was taking over her heart as she landed near the river. Is she really less than everyone?. What quality does she have?. It's the reality that they have beautiful wings. What she got compared to them. Thoughts raced in her head. She felt demotivated, discouraged and inferior. Tear slip through her eyes as she gazes onto the sky."Ohh Lord! You have made everyone beautiful...If I look beautiful to you the way I am then I don't care whatever they say", she finished with a weak smile." Fairy...Fairy...your body..It glows", all of sudden Stacy's voice rang in her ear".Fairy got back from her train of thoughts and analyze her body. It was really emitting light. With excitement, she jump up and flew over the horizon. The dark night was illuminated with her light rays. Then she looked down from the sky, noticing how Stacy's wings didn't shine at night."Hi! Do I look ugly now?", Fairy said reminding Stacy of her own mocking words. Stacy looked down on the ground. Her brightness of wings was solely dependent on the brightness of the sun." I am sorry.. I shouldn't have judged you. You glow when no one does", She said burning with shame. The firefly smiled but this time it wasn't weak.
