It was a moonless night. The pages of Alica's book fluttered as air tore her blond hair past her face, silently as she read her book by the window sill. The book's title was the 'Fate Of Mary May Marge' and it glistened red.. She was agitated and wanted to throw the book away for it churned her deepest fears and nightmares, but something compelled her to keep reading.

Alica had found this book previous day when she was cycling around her locality in the ruin that was few hundred meters away from her house. The book was lying in the courtyard of the ruin and despite the fact that ruin was old and shabby the book was in excellent condition but was splattered with red ink as Alica had presumed it. It was only after she noticed its sticky nature and darkness, she realized that it was blood. She suddenly had the urge to chuck the book aside, stomp her foot on it for good measure as her instincts screamed but it was like the book was giving out stronger vibes forcing her to pick it up and take it with her. She brought it home anyway, but could focus on nothing but reading the book. Minutes later she finished her book leaving it by the window sill and crept downstairs with her throat dry.

Alica was white with shock and fear as she stumbled down the hallway and tripped over something and fell down with a thud, smashing her head into her father’s antique collection showcase. Blood splattered all over the floor and the thing she had tripped over.

Her parents could not hear the commotion, as they slept on the first floor and only little sound reached their ears and they were sleepy to think anything of it. They continued sleeping thinking it might be a rat or something not knowing that it was their dear daughter. Meanwhile Alica had just enough time before life drained out of her to see what she had tripped over the same book she had been reading minutes ago, that same creepy book . But that wasn’t possible as she had just left it upstairs. When Alica’s parents woke in the morning they sobbed and sobbed making their eyes red, puffy and swollen.

Alica Grace had to pay the price of reading that book; for discovering the fate of MARY MAY MARGE as it has been a custom that it kills everyone who had read the book, luring in the next one lying in the courtyard of the same old ruin where Alica had found the book.
