The Day We Met
The Day We Met
The day Anaya and Rohan met, the sky was painted with hues of orange and pink, as if the universe itself was celebrating their first encounter. They were both at the local carnival, drawn to the Ferris wheel. Anaya, with her shy demeanor and bright eyes, clutched a small teddy bear, a prize from one of the games. Rohan, with his easy smile and confident stride, was there with his friends, but the moment he saw Anaya, everything else faded away.
"Do you mind if I sit here?" he asked, gesturing to the bench she was perched on.
Anaya looked up, slightly startled but intrigued. "Not at all," she replied softly.
They started talking, and before they knew it, hours had passed. They shared stories, dreams, and laughter. When the carnival lights began to dim, Rohan walked Anaya home, and they exchanged numbers. That night, both lay awake, replaying their conversations and imagining the possibilities.
Their relationship blossomed quickly. Weekend picnics, late-night calls, and surprise visits became their routine. They were inseparable, their love growing deeper with each passing day. Anaya's reserved nature balanced Rohan's adventurous spirit perfectly, making them an ideal match.
One evening, as they strolled along the beach, Rohan paused, pulling a small box from his pocket. "Anaya, I love you more than words can express. Will you marry me?"
Tears welled up in Anaya's eyes as she nodded, unable to speak. Rohan slipped the ring onto her finger, and they kissed under the twilight sky, the waves crashing softly around them.
But fate had a cruel twist in store. A week before their wedding, Anaya was involved in a severe car accident. She was rushed to the hosp
ital, and while she survived, the impact left her with partial amnesia. When she woke up, she couldn't remember Rohan or the beautiful life they had planned together.
Rohan was devastated but determined. He visited Anaya every day, bringing photos, recounting their memories, and trying to reignite the spark they once had. Anaya, though polite and kind, felt like she was meeting a stranger each time.
One rainy afternoon, as Rohan was leaving the hospital, he dropped a photograph. It was the first picture they had taken together at the carnival, their faces lit with pure joy. Anaya picked it up and something clicked. She remembered the Ferris wheel, the teddy bear, and the shy, handsome man who had asked to sit beside her.
"Rohan," she whispered, tears streaming down her face.
Rohan turned, his heart racing. "Anaya?"
"I remember," she said, her voice trembling. "I remember the day we met."
Rohan rushed to her side, hugging her tightly. "We'll make new memories," he promised. "Together, we'll create a beautiful future."
And they did. Slowly but surely, Anaya's memories returned, piece by piece. They postponed their wedding, giving Anaya time to heal and rediscover their love. Each day was a new adventure, filled with laughter, love, and hope.
On their rescheduled wedding day, under the same twilight sky where Rohan had proposed, they exchanged vows. They promised to cherish each moment, knowing how fragile and precious life could be.
As they danced under the stars, Rohan whispered, "No matter what happens, I'll always find you, Anaya."
And Anaya, her heart full of love and gratitude, replied, "And I'll always remember the day we met."
