_____did you hear it? _______was I audible now?

I am the one with the room full of lights, only swtiched off. Darkness. Hi.

While you shower in the bathroom, with eyes closed, and trance music playing on your phone, I am humming along with you through the “shrrrrr” of the shower.

We have known each other for years, but you never really noticed me in all that light.

I admit I had a scary way of introducing myself in your childhood, but I just wanted to get close to you. The light, as usual, stole my thunder.... Lightening. Its flickering and constant want to be noticed.

I never demanded any of that, as I always believed in staying subtle. I am happy that you have finally shown some interest in me.

Light has been pricking your eyes with its exposure. I guess thats the price you pay for the crystal clear visibility.

I, on the other hand, have been creating a comfortable “Ambience of Unknown”. Peaceful shadows.

Light has always been adamant on convincing you to make sense of the stuff you see. I instead believed in setting your wild imagination free. But most of the time you see some figments of the horror movie you have recently watched and blame me for the haunting memory.

I create silence for you to sleep peacefully. Why would I inject a nightmare?

I am the one who has been trying to keep you away from the one you are made to think I am.

You have been dating Light throughout these years, and he has always made sure I never break-free from the friend zone.

But today I really have to confess,” I rea…”

*Lights switched on*

“Why are you sitting in the dark?”

Yet again, Darkness and her confession were pushed back into my dad’s shadow on the wall;

While light smiled on my dad’s face.
