The Crooked: Chapter3

 The college had given one week leave due to the cyclone on the west coast. He went into the kitchen lighten up the gas stove and started cooking some scribbled eggs, kept a couple of bread in the toaster, he was listening to the music by doing all these. "Yeahhh..." harmonising in the kitchen while scribbling the eggs in a pan. He stopped the flame of the stove, slid the scribbled eggs into a plate and toaster clicked at the same time, took his one bread to keep in the plate and another one to eat on the way to the living room. He turned on his t.v kept a news channel and started to ingest the juicy, delicious breakfast on his first day of leave. Anchor of news programme started informing "police of Phininson had found the skeleton of an adult having broke skull, a couple is telling that he was their son by seeing the watch in his hand..." Brain'O remembered as soon as he listened to the news anchor, the crooked man was using him as bait. He stopped eating while listening to it, by not showing much attention he turned off his t.v. After eating his breakfast he brought his Anthropogeny book to study for semester two examinations going to be held immediately after a week, it was forty-five minutes ago when he started studying now thinking about the crooked man and the sculpture by seeing outside of the window. While this young man was peaking outside of the window he saw a couple with me. Dason tried to listen to what were they speaking about by slightly opening the window, Mrs.Dason was welcoming and talking about selling her house to a couple "Mr Ebam this house withstand an powerful earthquake you can take this house on your own...." they stood at the near the door of her residence. He closed his book and went towards the residence where they were talking about selling the residence to a couple when he approached their Mrs Dason introduced with Mr and Mrs Ebam "oh what a surprise ! Brain'O this is Mr and Mrs Ebam...." by showing with her head "....he is a very nice young man and also a nice neighbour, you will like him as your neighbour...." she continued by a sense of pleasure "....I am selling my house to them and I going to live in my daughter's" he felt it was right to sell them her house but still he appreciated her "I have a little gift for Mrs Ebam, will you accept it ?" "of course" exclaimed Mrs Ebam, "wait a minute" he pleaded and ran to his residence's basement by keeping his hands in his pocket, Mrs.Dason, Mr and Mrs Ebam were discussing the money that should be paid for her house, he opened the basement door situated at the back his house and went down by staircase leading to his basement, it was all dark down there Brain'O forgot to bring a torch, he went straight at the corner of the basement as he knew the place the steel trunk must be, he opened the steel trunk and with a sense of touch Brain'O got the wool, a sewing needle. He went towards Mr and Mrs Ebam "here" by handing over the wool and sewing needle Mr Ebam thanked him "thank you Mr Brain'O" "my pleasure" replied smiling. They started deciding the cost of the house to sell, Brain'O interrupted "sell it around 13 to 14 thousand dollars" Mrs Dason said arguing "I would sell it at thirteen thousand five hundred dollars". After selling the house to Mr and Mrs Ebam, Brain'O entered his house and went to the kitchen to drink a glass of water then a loud bang was coming from the basement in the backyard, first he thought that would be a dog or a rakoon but the bang countinued for a minutes. He decided to go inside the basement, in the way he picked up a torchlight from the drawer under his t.v and a long metallic axe from his backyard.

He was slowly moving towards the basement with his torch in his left hand and axe in his right. He calmly opened the basement door, the door was making a creeky sound as he opened it, Brain'O tried to see downstairs from the light of the torch but no one was visible except the darkness emerging the basement, it was still a rainy day, the sky thundering and downpour started. Brain'O decided to go inside by seeing the basement with his torch while he was getting inside by the staircase. He entered the basement there was no light except the torch, he was now standing in the middle of the room, the bulb in the basement was not working from three days when these things started happing to him. When he turned back with a sense of pleasure that it might be any animal as thought at first, the crooked man was standing in front of him, he attacked him by his axe on the crooked man's chest but he was healed immediately after he got hit by the axe. Crooked man attacked Brain'O on his stomach with his large crooked claws. Brain'O got swooned after that hit and found himself in Apocolypse world again but this time in the woods, the whole sky was black and the environment was in silence. He started running to his grandmother's, on the way he slowed down by seeing dead bodies of people he knew already, Brain'O murmured to himself while looking around at dead bodies "Bully....mo-mom..Mr.Das-Dason...." their dead bodies were lying down near the roots of the long trees of woods, their face frozen, their eyes were whole white. Accept his father, the crooked man was right behind him, he was about to kill him.....

Mr Ebam was coming from his residence for a little talk with Brain'O, his door was wide open, so he searched him in his residence but he was not there, then Mr Ebam looked at the basement through the window of the kitchen towards the backyard, the basement door was slightly open. Mr Ebam entered the basement and seen Brain'O was laying on the floor near the staircase, he went down to him and gave a little shook to his body. Finally, he woke up from the apocalypse world or else the should have killed him there and if it would have happend he would have been traped in that world for forever. Brain'O started to chatter with cold, Mr Ebam insisted "take my leather gloves it will get to warmth" by taking out his gloves "thank you sir" "it's becoming cold day by day in Phininson but the strange thing is it's cold in march" they both turned their towards the sky "yes! I forgot to say thank you for the present that you gave to my wife. She likes it" "my pleasure, sir" all of a sudden clouds started the downpour, they both ran to their residence, Mr Ebam said running "bye !". 

The next day morning Brain'O started to look different his eyes popped, his skin was completely pale and someone was controlling him might be the crooked man. He was still wearing yesterday's clothes even the gloves which were given by Mr Ebam. He went to Mr and Mrs Ebam's residence, when approached to the doorstep and rang the bell, suddenly he became normal again by the time he thinks why he was here Mrs Ebam opened the door saying "Brain'O come in" he has to go inside cause don't want Mrs Ebam to feel that he is not insane "what is the reason that brings you here ?" he made an excuse "I want to give Mr Ebam's gloves back" when he was about to remove the gloves, he was again in control of the sculpture while Mrs Ebam was finding some snakes to give it to him. Brain'O found the sewing needle that he gave present to Mr Ebam, he pulled off the needle from the wool and nearer to her, as she didn't notice the needle as she was busy in finding snakes "one-sec Brain'O I have something for you" she spoke while finding snakes "I also have something for ya" stabbed the needle at the side of the brain. 

The evening when he was just the look around after his study he saw Mr Ebam leaving the house meanwhile Mrs Dason was trying to stop him. He went nearer and asked Mr Ebam "why are you leaving, sir ?" he replied with sorrow "my wife got murdered...." he remembered what he had done to her in the morning, so, he doesn't want to talk more with him. He gave his gloves back and returned to his residence with sorrow. Police were trying to find him but...

..... Meanwhile Jizzy was planning for something big.
