The Caverns (Part 1)
Jess looked out at the place where the gray sky met the deep blue water of the stormy ocean. Since they had arrived at the beach house yesterday, it had been raining nonstop. With a sigh, Jess stood up out of the window seat and exited her room. Her two younger sisters, Ashley and Hannah, were in the kitchen. Ashley, being only four was seated on the floor, clutching a doll tightly. Hannah sat next to her, on her phone. Their mother was close by in the kitchen.
“I’m going for a walk up the street,” Jess said. Nobody paid her any attention, so she pulled on her raincoat and went out the door.
