The Boy with an Umbrella

Jahnavi fell asleep on the bus. When the bus reached her destination she woke up with the noise made by the bus conductor as he beats the window with the metal box.

She took the luggage and while getting down from the bus an old woman on the bus looks at her from the window.

The old woman laughs loud and says "you will find the real you" by seeing Jahnavi.

Jahnavi does not take it to her mind and started walking towards the village.

She recently posted as an English teacher in that village. As she walks on the road the clouds are trying to cover the morning sun and the weather changed drastically.

She founds a boy walking fastly before her. She shouts at him to know about the village.

He turns back and says come on, it is going to be heavy rain. Come. He opened the umbrella. Jahnavi laughs and says there is no rain coming today. It was just wind.

The boy pouts and bends his head down. She goes near to him and lifts his head. He is upset. 

Jahnavi decides to act as she believes him. 

Oh! boy, can you please take me to the village? It is going to be rain. Right?

She requests the boy. The boy grabs her hand and both start walking towards the village. He opens the umbrella and she listens to the raindrops falling on the umbrella and they both are not drenched because they are under an umbrella.

As soon as they reached the entrance of the village the boy closes the umbrella and the rain is stopped. The sky is clear. The boy smiles and disappears into the crowd.

Jahnavi is well received by the village head and he has arranged her stay in an old mansion.

Later, at the night she calls the village head and discusses the boy with an umbrella who helped her from the rain, and because of him, she reached the village easily.

The village head immediately reaches the mansion and asks Jahnavi to come with him. 

Jahnavi looks confused. Why this village head is taking tension about the boy with an umbrella. 

The village head took Jahnavi into a dark room and he searches for something as Jahnavi holds a mobile torch.

Is this the umbrella the boy carried? Village head shows an old wet umbrella hung on the wall of the darkroom. Village head looks terrified. 

Jahnavi took the umbrella into her hand and says yes. It is the same umbrella the boy was holding. Where is the boy? Do you know him?

She asks the village head.

There is no rain came today. Jahnavi is awestruck by listening to the village head.

The boy is a ghost who died a lot of time ago during heavy rain. The boy's family used to live here in this mansion. Village head narrates the story of the young boy.

But, but, Jahnavi tried to say something but her voice could not come out after seeing the old lady's photo on the wall. Jahnavi saw the same old lady on the bus. Means, she also dead?

Jahnavi's vision just got blurred. She listened to the voice of the old lady in her head. "you will find you".
