The Black Cat's Bad Luck

Vaani was a very cheeky girl but she disliked going to school. She would find out ways to skip school. She used to dip the thermometer in hot milk and claimed she had a fever. Her parents were tired of her bunk. They decided to put an end to her ways. One day Vaani was going to the bakery with her mother to buy bread and a black cat crossed their way. Her mother advised her that they should go in another way. Vaani asked what was the reason and the mother replied saying "its bad luck, silly girl!".

She shrugged and followed her mother to the other way. Then an idea walked into Vaani 's mind. The next day she woke up early and got ready for school. Her parents were speechless but happier than ever. She walked halfway to school and then returned. Her mother asked her what had happened and then she smiled and replied: " oh mother ! the black cat crossed my way". her mother was confused but what could she say? She was the one who feared the black cat's bad luck. this continued for five days, every time Vaani would narrate the same incident.

Finally, her father got reported about the black cat's bad luck. It angered him.

that false superstition was used for tricks. Vaani stopped but she was sure she would find something else to fool her parents till then she quietly went to school.
