I woke up with a startle, my heart was beating so loud that I could hear it outside. I looked around, the baby was fast asleep, I looked to my left my husband was fast asleep too. I could feel the sweat dripping from my forehead and behind the ears. I checked the time it was 3 am. I was scared, my mouth was dry. I thought I should wake my husband up, but he had worked late night and I wanted him to sleep.

I could swear by God that I heard someone very close. I wanted to get up but my legs dint move. What was happening, was this some kind of wierd dream. I pinched myself, nothing changed. The window was open, the curtain moved as the wind blew. Suddenly I saw a shadow, I was too scared to turn on the light. I called my husband but the words hardly came out. I sat there still as a log, as my body became cold as ice.

Who are you? the shadow asked. I started mumbling not knowing what to say, back of the head I was hoping I could get up from this weird dream. The shadow continued - Looks like you need some help and that's the reason why I'm here. I said I'm fine I don't need any help. I asked who are you and why are you here. It replied saying, I am here to help you. from the past couple of months, I've been noticing that you've forgotten who you are, you've forgotten how to smile, you've forgotten how to talk so today I took the liberty to come here and make you realise what you've been doing to yourself and who you really are.

Are you God, I mumbled? I heard the shadow giggle and it said No, I'm not God, I am you. there was a sudden flash of light from no where and I could catch a glimpse of the shadow. It was me the real me standing there with a smile on my face and tears on my eyes. Before I could do anything, I heard the baby cry and the shadow disappeared.

Was it a dream or was it real, what just happened.
