That One Moment....

That One Moment....

He glanced around. Too many faces. All busy with something. Serving around. The performers, putting up their best. The forces, marching past with their heads held up high. Other 'invitees' like him. Proud faces. Happy too...

Was it only him who was in a confused state like that? Mixed feelings. Deep inside he felt anguished. Angry. Sad

This award and felicitation were of no use. It couldn't fetch back his happiness... or for that matter his family. What use was his bravery, if he

wasn't able to save his own parents. He might have been a hero for people, but in the long run he felt like a

loser for himself....

The ceremony carried on...He was awarded the national bravery award. A moment that would have made anyone proud. A moment other would think of boasting about...

But all this had no effect on him. He was like a body without a soul. Living because maybe committing suicide was a crime.

The day came to an end. The crowd receded. The celebrations ended. Bringing him back to his own lonely world...

As he started to walk, he felt something. Turning back, he saw an old lady behind him. As she approached him closer he observed the eagerness on her face. Slowly she began speaking. Expressing gratitude for saving her handicapped son by putting his own life at risk during the floods... god. She had managed to trace him from this crowd... even when she could hardly manage to walk... it was later in the time that he came to know it was her who had managed to put his name for the bravery award with the help of local authorities...... but the biggest joy of all.. through her he got a family... a caring mother again.... that was the small moment which brought him a new life... a satisfactory one too...

A quote I read somewhere to sum it up with- "Life is a stage. You are a stand-up comedian. Death, your only audience has the last laugh.

Entertain it well, lest, it falls asleep out of boredom".

In short, live your life every moment to the fullest, as if it were your last, follow your dreams, fiercely and passionately. Because the show must go on and we are all here to keep it going...
