It was chilly, brisk, snowy weather when Susan woke up with dreams in her eyes. She was a student of Scottish catholic school. She was studying in the 10th grade and was preparing very hard for her examination. So after sheer hard work she passed with flying colours. She was elated with joy and wanted to tell her parents. When she reached home there was an air of reticence and when she went inside she found the room empty. She called up her parents but they were not receiving the phone. So she asked her neighbours if they have seen them, but nothing could work as they didn’t know.

Suddenly the phone rang and the call was from a hospital who was telling Susan to come immediately to the hospital and informed her that her parents are admitted. Susan came to know that they had met with an accident and had severe blood loss. Susan was worried as they have been now shifted to the ICU. After trying very hard the doctors couldn’t save them and they were declared dead. Susan was shattered and couldn’t think what to do. The thing that strike her mind was that the doctors didn’t give much effort to save her parents and she thought if she would have been a doctor then she could have saved her parents. A strong desire to become a doctor came to her mind at that instant. Then she remembered her little brother of whom she had to take care of. She rushed straight to her aunt’s house where he had gone for some days. When her aunt heard about her, parents’ death she told them she will adopt Susan and her brother for the time being. Initially, both Susan and her brother got much affection and love from their aunt. But as the days passed by, they felt ignored. Eventually, Susan had to go through humiliation by her aunt and did all the household chores on her own at such tender age.

She didn’t get time to study and a time came when her education was at a HALT. She went for part time work in Day care for children as their aunt was not giving a single penny for his brother’s study, so she was the one who had to work. But her brother didn’t show, much interest in studying and instead started stealing things, drinking alcohol, and smoking. She was very frazzled and tensed for her brother’s and her future. The daycare in which she was working, one doctors’ child also came there for the daycare. The Parents of that child enquired her why she was working in Daycare at such an early age. She told that she didn’t had money to educate herself so she thought of educating her little brother by earning money. The parents of that child were working in a hospital and proposed her a deal that they would give a permanent job to his brother as Ambulance boy provided that he would give up the habit of drinking, stealing and all other bad habits. So she promised them that her brother would follow their advice as to be literate and lead a life with purpose.

So she made her brother agreeand he promised to let go of his bad habit and would focus on his life. Susan now wanted to resume her studying carrier as her brother had already settled, but the problem was money. Those doctor's parents again helped her by offering her money to study as they knew she was smart enough to become a successful woman in her future. So she continued her studies and appeared for the toughest entrance exam to get into medical studies and she passed the exam in one shot with her brilliance. She lived in a girl’s hostel and studied day and night to become a successful doctor. Those years were very hard for her. The true strains of medical college began to tell that the high you prepare the high you would get marks.

Through the personal highs and lows, through the unrelenting pressures of academics, she slogged. Finally, she completed her education scoring high marks to become a successful doctor. The doctors who helped her to provide money were proud of her. One unfortunate day they both suffered with an extreme heart pain and that day Susan was luckily assigned as she was a heart surgeon. She tried her level best to save them and she saved their lives making her dream come true. She was in contact with those doctors and whenever they need any help she would be always there for them. Susan treated them as her own parents. Now Susan and her brother lived together happily.
