# The Gift

Krishna had been saving up for months, doing extra chores and babysitting for the neighbours. She wanted to buy something special for her father's ( Anil) birthday, something he would cherish and remember. She knew he loved music, especially the old songs from his youth. She had seen him humming along to the radio, tapping his fingers on the steering wheel. She had heard him singing in the shower, his voice echoing in the bathroom.

She decided to buy him a record player, one of those vintage ones that looked like a suitcase. She had seen one in a thrift store, and it was in good condition. It even came with a few records, some of them from his favourite bands. She paid for it with her hard-earned money and wrapped it carefully in colourful paper. She hid it under her bed, waiting for the right moment to surprise him.

She waited until his birthday when he came home from work. She greeted him with a hug and a kiss and led him to the living room. She told him to close his eyes and brought out the gift. She placed it on the coffee table and told him to open his eyes.

He looked at the gift, and was shocked! He recognized the shape of the record player and the familiar logos on the records. He smiled, and tears came up in his eyes. He hugged her tightly and thanked her for the thoughtful gift. He told her how much he loved her, and how proud he was of her.

They spent the evening listening to music, dancing and singing along. They laughed and reminisced about old times. They felt closer than ever, and she knew she had given him the best gift ever.
