Story: A Little Obsession

    Forest attracts Ratul forever. Car stopped on the main road of Rajabhatkhwa forest. The driver and Meghnad Da went to office for permission to enter the forest. But Ratul just looking at the sky. The city sky, village sky, forest sky…  all the skies seem to be different. Looking at picture of a piece of sky, Ratul will be able to say… which is the sky of which area.

    This time, especially after the fifteenth of June, no entry into the forest. Yet they went out to see the rain forest. Ratul never saw the rain forest. Looking at the cloudless sky … it seems that Sky has just washed own face in rain water.

    Looking at the sky, he suddenly remembers Suroma. Yesterday Suroma said when she came out of the parlor, Darling…  is there any glow on my face. 

Ratul grabbed her face with both hands and said, Oh… What a beauty ! 

    In this way sky’s lover… Mountain reacts when he sees sky’s face in rain. In fact there can be only love of mountain with the sky. The mountain has been waiting for the sky for so long. And in this rain the sky jumps on the chest of the mountain.  

    Mathematics teacher Ratul is absolutely romantic like crazy now.

 Suroma stands next to him and calling, see…  how the monkey looks and smiles. I think monkey likes me ! hahaha… 

 

Ratul gritted his teeth. He can’t tolerate anything… if anyone looks at Surma as greedy. But when he has come to see the forest, then what else can be done. Suroma is not something to be kept in a purse that will be put in a pocket.  

    Ah, Ratul knows very well that going around with beautiful wife is dangerous. When Suroma gets on the bus, when gets on the train, when she goes to the restaurant…  everyone looks at her as if they can swallow easily.

    Normally Suroma is less decorated. Due to Ratul’s stubborn, today Suroma is well dressed…  she just wearing a thin eye liner, light lipstick on lips, pearl top on her ear, two bracelets on hands and she is wearing a printed red georgette sari. That’s why anyone can’t take eye off. How the people around are looking at her. 

    Impatient Ratul chases the driver suddenly. By then the driver and Meghnad Da came back with that permission…  Ratul did not notice when they were standing behind.

    Meghnad Da says jokingly, Ah there is no salvation even in the forest…  this is the problem of caring a beautiful wife… Oh…  

Suroma’s elder son-in-law is Meghnad.  Elders sister Shivani has come with her husband Meghnad. Shivani is watching monkeys, taking pictures by her mobile, recording insect calling.  

She has always had a penchant for photography.

    Ratul made Surma stand in various style and took some pictures. Meghnad photographed Ratul Suroma Shibani. Shivani took some pictures of Meghnad Ratul and Suroma.

    The car now towards Jayanti hill. The Jayanti hill seems to be standing tall. Near the feet of this hill river just flowing… strong current and little water.

Holding Shivan’s hand, Suroma started walking towards that hill. Keep moving …

BSF is patrolling on both sides with cars and bikes. The current in the river is very strong. Sometimes two sisters fall while walking. Ratul was walking a little distance away with Meghnad and the driver. Suddenly he ran and started pulling Suroma, let’s go… Sun will set right now.

    Shivani sees Ratul and smiles. Her mobile took intimate pictures of Ratul and Suroma.

    Meghnad Da laughs, Ratul…  the BSF is guarding the river. They didn’t come to take your wife… they never looked at your wife.

    Suroma sees…  keeps observing, the color of Sun just spreading on the hill, the hill is also turning red with shame like Ratul.

    Ratul was caught by Meghnad Da and did not get a chance to make excuses. Just a chilling smile… Ratul presses Suroma’s hand. Gently.
