Soul Food

The moment I saw her, I realised she was not an eye candy, but my soul food. And winning her heart was easy and yet was not easy. Easy because eventually, she will be mine and I hers. Easy because we are made for each other. Easy because the Gods made two bodies from one soul.

It was not easy because I did not know then, what she thought of me. It was not easy because we were two different bodies, and we were probably not ready at that time to be united. But when you are destined, things happen your way, situations give away to your cause, and love finds its way.

The first time we had met, I told her that she was my soul food. She had joked, shrugged it away with a wave of her hand and dismissed it as a silly flirting.

Years later, she tells me I am her soul food. And I laugh at her and say, I told you so.
