Silver LiningDark Clouds(end)

Gracy went down and down under the crashing blows of the heartless waves ,losing consciousness gradually ,hoping to find the ultimate escape from her rotten life ( as she considered) in this unfathomable deep blue oblivion....

Three things happened at the same time...

• Gracy's heart felt a sudden surge of a strong survival instinct,the presence of which she had never felt to have even existed ,within those few minutes ,between jumping into the sea and losing consciousness. It was as if God was instructing her to give her precious life a second chance, with a hope that the next chapters may hold something better for her....
• At the same time an elderly woman jumped in to rescue her.
• Life guards dived in to save her.

The consequence of these incidents was quite unexpected.Gracy started fighting back the waves ,with her swimming skills learnt long back in primary school,(which was buried under multiple layers of negativity towards life) and came out panting and puffing.

But the one that drowned was the other woman who had jumped into the ocean to save her. The life guards dragged her unconscious body out of the ocean with great effort and began resuscitating vigorously to salvage her.

Gracy was flabbergasted when she saw the older lady and screamed in astonishment, "Mom!!! What Are You Doing Here???"

Her mother vomited out most of the water she had engulfed .An ambulance which had been summoned by some kind soul among the onlookers, took her to the hospital and started immediate treatment ,with Gracy accompanying her like a dumbfounded puppy.

The grandparents were summoned by the hospital and after reviving completely, her mother was discharged from the hospital. 

Gracy had sat day and night near her mother's bed , caressing her and praying God earnestly ," Don't snatch her away from me ,God , because I don't have anyone else to call my own."

After coming home,Gracy asked her mother,"How did you appear here, mom,when you were supposed to be busy???"

Her mother replied," I admit that I have been neglectful towards your feelings ,when I was struggling to be both the breadwinner and the homemaker of the house ,facing the judgemental views of the society towards single women. 

Many people even think that I'm a fall woman who pushed your dad towards the accident.The male dominated society never see a man's faults,dear .Especially it's the womenfolk who antagonize other women the most.😢😢

After I sent you to your grandparents' place ,I found a little red diary ,which you had forgotten to take with you . It was like a journal in which you had jotted down your feelings , sentiments ,struggles during all these years .To my horror ,I found that you had enlisted ways to commit suicide in the end.

Then I took the next flight and rushed here praying to God desperately not to snatch you away from me ,as you are the only one I have!!"

Gracy asked her," You don't know ABC of swimming,mother.How could you jump into the sea??!!"

" I never even considered that ,when I saw you jumping into the water," replied her mother.

" And you read my personal diary ,mother!!" , asked Gracy in mock anger.

Her mother answered emphatically ," Of course I did and will continue reading your diary because it's the duty of a mother to understand her daughter,be supportive at every step of life and protect her from the cruel outside world " and they hugged ,laughing heartily with the baggages of the past evaporating away silently....
