IAS topper Aditi, realizing how lonely it is at the top, made it her regular habit to visit the Buddhist monasteries, whenever she could squeeze out some time from her extremely busy schedule, in hope of shedding the bondages clutching at her heart tightly to the point of breathlessness.

On a particular day, it suddenly began to drizzle, just as she was leaving the monastery. She began to run, as she hadn't carried an umbrella that day, when her eyes located a man cum boy ( or an young adult), definitely retarded, as was evident from his looks, urging with his soulful eyes to every passerby to buy his apples, which were arranged in 4 apple packets and the price was written on cardboard he was holding.

Aditi bought one packet as she had only that much change at that time. But the image of retarded, deaf, and dumb young man trying to earn a livelihood, instead of begging impressed her immensely and refused to leave her subconscious.

She made it a regular habit of going there daily, buying 2 /3 packets of apples from him with a smile. She inquired about him from a monk and came to know that he( Aman) was an orphan whose mother had died due to the difficult delivery and his taxi driver father had fallen off a cliff. He had been given permission by the monastery to live there and sell the apples growing in their orchard. They were giving him special schooling for retarded people upto matriculation level.

As the collector of the area, Aditi arranged for a job in her office, suitable for Aman as per his education level. This boosted his self-esteem.

Then one day Aditi suggested to him to stay in the company quarter instead of the monastery. He rushed euphorically to his abode in the monastery and rushed back to the company quarter within one hour carrying 2 small bags of his belongings in total, too happy to have a home for himself, rather than being at the mercy of the monks..

I see a fairytale love story brewing between a prince without a voice and an extremely lonely princess who had lost her smile, next onwards... Cupid's arrow hits people in quite mysterious ways...what do you think???
