Love....At Last?? - Part - 1

IAS Aditi Sharma,super brilliant,topper of IAS entrance and viva rounds ,was grudging inside herself, boiling with temper,as she reached at the government circuit house at Gangtok ,thinking that ," Look at these authorities... They are giving me Sikkim cadre ...? Many people wouldn't know where Sikkim exists and that too whether it's a state at all or a province, district or a village!! Shouldn't they be giving me the choice of my posting as I'm the topper?"

 "One month maximum,then I'm going to leave this God forsaken place...",nearly screamed Aditi to the lady attendant Aasma in the guest house.

" Let's see what happens ma'am...", thought Aasma smilingly," I've seen too many big govt. officers like you coming to this place,vowing to themselves to leave as soon as possible and to never look back again. But our place seems to work magic on people's hearts... They fall in love with this place ".She left silently after looking after Aditi's comfortable settling down, without voicing her thoughts.

Aditi sat down with her laptop to type a stern letter to her superiors to transfer her as soon as possible, in the balcony with a glass wall showing the mesmerizing view of the snow-capped ranges of the Himalayas with the tall fir trees , almost covered with snow and showering tiny particles of snow while the breeze swayed their pointed leaves.

The sun began to set and the view of the mountains in the reddish orange hue of the horizon and the approaching darkness made Aditi spellbound. The crispy evening air filled her heart with euphoria as she had never felt before...and typing the letter to the superior officer got postponed unknowingly.

Aasma entered with her innocent smile and asked her," Have you finished your work madam ?? Is it ok to serve dinner now?"

Aditi said absent-mindedly that work could wait. Aasma thought," The magic has started its effect.." and asked Aditi," Madam, will you prefer to take a trip to the place before you leave? I can arrange a vehicle and a guide for you tomorrow morning, if you like.."

Aditi nodded affirmatively, still lost in the fiery embers of the remnants of the setting sun behind the giant peaks.
