The flies were continuously buzzing over the stained-white wall.
Then, it went black.

On the left side of the bed sat Mr. Ghosh , with
a bright smile . "Good morning , my sweet pea. " He said with an abrupt
broken tone . Suddenly, a woman in blue-bordered white sari entered
the room with a register . She was supposedly in her thirties yet was
very charming . She said ,"Hello , Miss Ghosh . How are you today ?
It's a bright sunny day, eh ?"
"Yes , it is ." ,said a voice as feeble as a whisper .
It was 8:15 in the morning , the alarm clock kept ringing on its
highest pitch . Misti woke up from her bed and moved towards the
oaken-window . It was raining outside . The streets were  filled
with umbrellas . Children wore raincoats and gumboots on their way to
school . The vehicles kept splashing water on the pavement-dwellers .
"Yet another beautiful day", thought she . "Misti , you have a letter
here . You should better hurry ." came a voice from the hall . She
slowly led her sleep-laden steps towards the hall . Tore the envelope
and read the letter, yawning simultaneously . The very next moment ,
she started shouting at the top of her voice and dancing frenziedly . "I'm
selected , I’m selected " echoed all over the house .
She screamed .... "No , it can't  be...." She screamed and growled like
a wounded tigress . Between her sobs , she asked her father , " Why
me... Why only me?" Mr. Ghosh took an uneasy shift on his chair and
tried to console his beloved daughter . But , he knew no consolation
can stop her tears  now or balm her desperation . He said quietly ,"
The doctors tried their best to prevent it from getting infected . But
all in vain . They had to...... amputate it to.... Save you." And he broke
down .
Misti , a young girl of 21 was pulchritudinous and full of apprehension . She
was also a fabulous Classical dancer . She grew up practicing hard and
filling her shelves with countless trophies that shone with pride. It
was Thursday evening , she packed her yellow suitcase ; carefully
placing her "Ghungroos" in it safely . She bid her parents goodbye
and sat on the rear seat of the bus . She could sense that thrill and
excitement that led her to her dreams . She was selected for the
National Classical Dance Championship . She was just a step away from
being the "National level Champion" in "Bharat Natyam". She thought
about what life  would actually be at that paragon of success . She
was having that giddy feeling within her . She thought about her
parents, how very proud they would be of her.
Misti thought of taking a short nap before she could reach Kolkata .
After all, it was just a four hours travel from Murshidabad . She
closed her eyes , smiling triumphantly . A sudden jerk woke her up .
Though , she was semi- conscious , she could sense the twist of her
waist . Something very solid and heavy jammed her legs . After that
all went completely BLACK.....
It's been five years that the tragic accident occurred , where Misti's
dreams were shattered like that of the shattered pieces of the buses'
windows . An aspiring dancer , for whom her feet were her reason to
live were now amputated forever . FOREVER . Leaving her bed-ridden .
But Misti isn't broken down .It’s the  circumstances that brought her to this
level but her will-power  made her fight strongly with it .
Today , she introduced her own Dance School for children that are
physically challenged or are detrimental . She has found her SILVER
LINING . Her reason to LIVE again. To DREAM again . To SMILE again .
