Shubho Drishti1 min 348 1 min 348
Loaded with memories of childhood, adulthood, marriage, the birth of kids, their birthday parties...each chronicled and kept inside cupboards exclusively meant for old albums.
The most cherished ones are our wedding photos dating back to 1975. The one of "Subho Drishti" is my favourite one. Eyes staring straight in his, sitting on a wooden platform held upon the shoulders of my brothers-in-law, I remember the cheering when I was lifted higher so make it difficult for hubby to put the garland.
The photos of our honeymoon in Darjeeling brings back memories of the cold winter, the snow-covered Kanchenjunga range and us looking like Eskimos.
Colour photography at that time was rare. Hubby had to send the film roll to Canada for development. Perhaps we were the only couple in possession of coloured wedding photos, now discoloured, after forty-four years down the line. A friend and a professional photographer took the wedding photos that still invites a lot of appreciation from children. Hopefully, our grandchildren will grow up to view the photos when we are no more.
