Sheryl Returns

Charu had recently started his new career as an archaeologist. She was working with a group and was in search of a historical monument, archaeological site, or any sort of ancient article. Meanwhile she got a call from her grandmother and she asked her to reach the village as soon as she could as she was ill. Grandmother also said something that made her more curious and put her into confusion. Grandmother Said "Ancient chapter of terribility has resumed....". She took a flight from new York to India. When she went out of the airport on reaching India she saw Vincent uncle selling books. He was a close neighbour of her grandmother. She talked for a while with him and purchased a few books. Vincent was fond of ancient books and one of them he offered to Charu.

 While moving towards her grandmother's house in a rickshaw. She took a glance of the book but she stopped at a page which astonished her. There was a Polaroid photograph of an old Villa and an alphanumeric code "MV02FK09" with a map that showed directions to the Villa. It has a starting point at Hotel Memorable and ended at villa named home. After reaching home Charu and grandmother were extremely happy to meet each other. They gossiped for a long time and had their dinner. Charu decided that she would sleep beside her grandmother so that she can take proper care of her. In her sleep she hears that all the people were calling her Sheryl and ran behind her.

Next morning she went to Vincent uncle tells him about yesterday's dream. He tells her that Sheryl Verghese had wanted to have a Mountain named after her maiden family name. Her husband Anthony Delsworth, a wealthy man, purchased an area having a small hill, but the traitors who did the deal of that area ran away with the money. Later he built a magnificent hotel and named mount Verghese. He wrote in his diary "Dear, don't sell this hotel". Their descendants sold the hotel and now it is a mall called the city mall.

 Showing map she said "What about this home?". Uncle told that this home was earlier a haunted House it had many ancient precious items. Lots of businessmen tried to occupy it, but those who went inside never came back and were found stabbed. Later government officials visited and took all items and auctioned the house to a rich person. Now it is a museum.

To nurture her new profession Charu decided to visit the museum. In the museum, she looked at every object and book like a keen observer. She found a book in which she discovered that she was a dead ringer of Sheryl Verghese. At page 76 there was a photo of Anthony holding golden-coated sword. On this sword there was a code MV02FK09, same as she saw in her book offered by Vincent uncle. She then heard the voice again in her head 'Welcome Home, Sheryl Verghese' . This time she was shocked, saw around but everyone was quiet. 

Charu left the museum and started his journey towards the house. Many suspense were revealed now. she still had a few questions in her mind. To clarify them she visited uncle Vincent. His caretaker Martha's son Ruth told her that he had suddenly left for Egypt. she was surprised to know that as he didn't tell her about going to Egypt during their last meet. Ruth asked her to take a seat and he went to call his mother. Charu had never met Martha. The moment Martha came in and saw Charu started to shriek and fainted saying "sh... sh...Sheryl again....". Frightened Charu was speechless and rushed back home with more questions than answers in her mind.
