1)The first thing you can do it give the person in front of you the respect he or she deserves. It should not matter whether he or she is elder to you or he or she is younger than you. It is so because everyone deserves respect. 

2)If you want to keep your point always do it politely.As they say, "Civility costs nothing, and buys everything".

3) Always give a patient hearing. Listen to others and try to understand what they have to say. Be empathetic and forgive other's mistakes, even you can make mistakes, and then you will be forgive to.

4) Rudeness, Dualism, and dominance will only strain your relations and leave you alone someday. Remember, No nobody can survive alone.
