“That’s the thing about this city.” Perched on the ledge of the roof of my building, I was mystified by the beauty of the cityscape. The never-ending, golden web of roads circled around the center. The buildings were like platinum petals soaring up towards the arsenic clouds.

Skyscrapers, peering down at the tiny cars and taxis, flaunted in their flamboyance. The city was of broad boulevards and small areas to relax, dine, and unwind.

A river flowed in the middle of the capital, dividing it into halves. The contrast between the old town and the modern city is striking yet enchanting at the same time.

Lost in the labyrinth of back alleys are graffitis and arts adorned on the white-washed walls. In the snaking paths, one can stretch out their arms to touch the buildings on both sides. The houses here are not the absolute perfection of the contemporary buildings in the modern areas, but every arch and flaw renders them more artistic.

The lively lanes of the market are crowded with people haggling and bargaining for the prices. From silken and satin shawls to cardamom-cluttered stalls, every extrinsic item is sold in this enchanting bazaar. A trance of the music from the retro store follows anyone strolling in this maze of fascinating kiosks.

“I’ll miss this city… Ah, I don’t wanna leave anymore,” I loudly sighed while packing my luggage. I opened my leather pouch, tucked in my passport and my ticket, and lazily plopped on the couch. I quietly had take-out from that cafe down the street and slept early.

As soon as I woke up in the morning, I swiftly got ready and rechecked my luggage. I quickly hailed a cab, checked in at the airport, and boarded my flight. “I’ll often be lost in your reminiscence,” I softly murmured as I bade this captivating city goodbye.
