It is okay to have a bad day or a bad week. It is okay to even have a bad month, but don’t let it affect your mental health. You don’t have to say yes to every person who asks you for a favour. Helping people out and pleasing them are two different things, remember. So what if your crush doesn’t like you back? You were too good for him anyway. Talk to your childhood friends. They’re the ones who will support you when your world seems to come crashing down. Do things that your future self will thank you for. Like skincare. And working out. Please. Read every day. Journal regularly. Make a GooglePay account. And learn to drive the car and get your four-wheeler’s license. Scrolling through Instagram is not your main job after waking up in the morning. Learn to prioritize. You don’t have to put up a front when you’re with your loved ones. Talk to a trusted person when you’re not feeling good. Do things you love. Spend time with yourself, alone. Not with your phone or your stupid laptop filled with stupid, stupid stickers. Watching friends when you feel numb is not a healthy coping mechanism. Develop a healthy coping mechanism, like, again, letting it all out to a trusted person. Take your education seriously. Seriously. And make notes. They’re life-saving. Having a boyfriend isn’t everything. I love you. Always and forever.
