Ragpicker's Son In Indian Army
Ragpicker's Son In Indian Army
It is said that "determination" and "devotion" are pillars of success. Positive attitude and thinking can overcome any obstacle encountered on the road to success. It is easy to miss the opportunities found in the problem. But with positive thinking, it is possible to overcome the hurdles we encounter in life.
Once there lived a ragpicker who, barely surviving the life of his family, discovered some books in the rags. He asked his father about them after seeing them. His father told him, these are the book which, if we read them, will help us to become successful in life like the great scientist Dr. A.P.J. Abdulralam and Dr. Vikram Sarabhai.
The ragpicker's son told his father that he wanted to study. He had dreams of studying to ensure the highest standards of success. But he couldn't tell this to his father due to hesitation the family not having enough money. But now he had a chance to study!
In that, he was extremely fortunate in that his father was able to bring him more books from the rags to add to his growing library. The book "Wings of Fire" was one of his favorites and made him determined even more to make his dreams a reality. The son intended to make his dreams come true through his studies and thought about how to do this. After thinking of a solution, he went to his father to discuss his idea.
The ragpicker's son curiously asked his father, "If I can raise the money for my studies, will you allow me to go study?" The father answered, "Yes...yes...why not? My support is with you". The son made up his mind to make money for studies. With determination, the son of the ragpicker knew he would go to study after raising funds.
With the consent of his father, the child decided to work as a peon in the science laboratory of a school. He raised funds working for many days. As ragpicker's son, he was working in a science laboratory, which gave him the chance to observe in addition to work peon. He enjoyed this work and learning as well. Time passed and the son of a ragpicker felt that his dream of studying would come to life by learning and saving money.
After waiting for what he considered to be a long enough time to join studies, he notified his father about his will and dream. The ragpicker blessed him and told him that it would be a pleasant and great even in his life when his son would begin to study for success in life. With the blessing from God and father, the day came when he joined the school.
Primitively, he found it difficult to cope with the studies, but as nothing is impossible, he studied very well with a determined mind and hard work. His performance was outstanding and so the head of the school called his parents. His parents came to the school and right there in front of him, the schoolmaster decided to promote him to higher studies with a scholarship. Good days were coming and the son of the ragpicker got selected as an A.J. Specialist in the Indian army. The journey of success didn't stop there as he joined R&D (Research and Development) too in the Indian Army. The ragpicker's son served the nation.
Dreams come true by intention as they did from the dreams of the ragpicker's son. Intention along with the determined mind of the father and son helped them achieve success in their life. Books truly are man's best friend.
Moral: Hard work and perseverance have no substitutes in life.
