Proud To Be A Woman

Once there lived a woman named Anurakardhanimika Ashalaha. She was not satisfied with her life as she wanted to be a doctor but was not allowed to study. This was the time when Britishers were ruling our India . She decided to fight for her rights. First she went to the chief and asked him about allowing her to study. The chief said her that if she again dared to say this to him she will be hanged to death. She left the chief's office and decided to visit each house of the village and talked to every women about their opinion for women rights. She visited every house of the village and got to know that each and every woman wants to study but is scared and doesn't want to get hanged to death . She then decided to hide her identity and go to school. The next day she hid her face and went to school . The Britisher caught her and she was taken to the chief.

The chief asked her, "Why you want to study?"

She said that ladies feel uncomfortable to tell their problems to a male doctor and let him check their body.

Chief said, "But that is the doctor's job to ask the problem and check the body. The doctor's job is same . It doesn't matter that it is male or a female."

Then just in a second after the conversation the chief's secretary comes and tells to the chief that his wife is not well and no doctor can understand her problem even by checking her.

Then Anurakardhanimika said that she would like to try checking his wife. Maybe she could understand his wife's problem.The chief was not at all having any option so he allowed her to check his wife. Then they both went to the chief's house and Anurakardhanimika went to check the chief's wife . Anurakardhanimika checked the chief's wife and understood that a piece of chilli has got stuck in the chief's wife's neck . Anurakardhanimika hit the chief's wife on the back and the stucked chilli came out of chief's wife's neck . Chief's wife thanked Anurakardhanimika and told the chief everything . The chief also thanked Anurakardhanimika and said to her that she deserves being a doctor because the thing that big doctors were not able to find out she found that out and saved his wife.

Anurakardhanimika said she really wanted to go to school and study; and not only she but other women also.They were also not satisfied with their life, like her, but were doing everything under pressure. Chief said that he will take his rule back of not allowing women to study and let everyone go to school and study. She thanked the chief and started going to school from next day and became a very big doctor after ages. A great salute to her and women like her who showed such a great confidence for women rights and proved that women are not less than men.
