Neelu: The Bride

It is a wintry day, Neelu was basking. Neelu...Neelu, (a loud summon for Neelu) called Mahesh and he hugged tightly to Neelu. Mahesh and Neelu were lovingly & happily married. But after one week of Marriage, Mahesh changed his behavior towards Neelu and used to frown at her. Neelu used to tolerate all this but one day Mahesh came home intoxicated and started beating Neelu. This enraged Neelu and she informed her parents about it yet the parents made Neelu restful and denied her to come and told her to solve the issue within themselves as every family had a little fight. Yet, Neelu was affected by the incident and she knew if she didn’t take a step today she would forever be trapped. 

Neelu was educated and knowledgeable; she was well versed with her rights and this led Neelu to knock on the doors of justice. The court of law punished Mahesh under the Domestic violence act and cruelty against her own wife. Neelu was a bit sad that her marriage got ruined but she was happy that she raised her voice.

A few years later, Mahesh was released from jail. On the other hand, Neelu was a social worker working for the rights of women and there she met Raj, both were loving each other a lot. In a few months, Neelu & Raj were going to get married. 

As we say ‘the world is round’, in the marriage hall Mahesh was serving as a waiter, he knew the marriage was of her wife Neelu. Mahesh wanted to ruin her life and he went to Raj exploited Neelu by abusive language. Raj was humiliated. With anger, Neelu slapped Mahesh and told him “For god sake stop!”. Mahesh who was embarrassed ran away. Everyone clapped for Neelu’s bravery.
