Necessity is the Mother of invention

“I don’t think necessity is the mother of invention. The invention is my opinion arises directly from accident possibly from laziness- to save oneself from trouble”

Albert Einstein“Without human necessity, it would be next to impossible to think of an invention or discovery”

Nikola TeslaThere is always a wide squabble and reasoning over the deliberation of the cause of invention. The invention in itself is the greatest discovery of mankind. ‘Necessity’ and ‘accident’ have always been in the spotlight s the cause of invention. A plethora of inventions have come into play only because the existing availabilities weren’t able to cope with human needs, and thus there arose a need to discover the undiscovered. On the contrary, numerous inventions to have come into existence unanticipated; just by the causal actions of man. However, we can use the transformation from an illusion to reality for each and every invention that has got its origin from human development.

A perfect epitome of an invention that turned into reality because of ‘necessity’ is the discovery of the light bulb by Thomas Edison. Back when the only reliable source of light for man after the sunset were candles and matchsticks. But yet they weren’t very much successful in coping up with man’s need, consequently, there arose a need and necessity to develop a much more well-rounded source of light. Soon later, a man named Edison discovered a much dependable source which was the electric bulb, and since then it has been serving as the most authentic source of light for mankind.

On the contrary, an ideal exemplar of an invention that came into existence because of an ‘accident’ is the invention of the artificial pacemaker. John Ropps an English engineer in the first place had set about discovering the ‘use of radiofrequency’ to restore body temperature but unexpectedly he ended up developing an artificial pacemaker by making a keen note on the fact that ‘if the human heart stopped beating due to cooling, it could be started again by artificial stimulation’.

There are a plethora of causes in the world of invention, which have played a dominant role in providing ease to human existence.

Creativity is the most distinguished and pronounced invention known to mankind. Despite, the different causes of inventions each of them have been undertaking a crucial role in human development and the creativity of man, would undoubtedly bring about much greater inventions into existence in the impending future.
