The typical stories revolve around everyone. The people are born in one place and grow up in another place. The jobs and the education of children forced to stay in different areas. The final settlement of an individual depends on the circumstances of life. People select the workplace finally. They become part of this locality. But they never forget the ancestral place. The village, houses, and the members cannot be diminished from the memory. When we sit alone, we recollect the love and affection of the villagers. The village is not like a town where different people are found. But the villages are much united in relation and emotions. We have been tied with the cord of regard. We address them Kaki, Kaka, Bhaiya, Bhouji, Mama, Mami etc. We have a relationship in the village rather than in town.

We are from Village: Ganouli, Block: Andhra Thari, Dist: Madhubani, Bihar. My father stayed maximum in his maternal village from his childhood. The village Parmanpur: Block: Vishanpur Nath Nagar Bhagalpur was very small. It was the tradition of Maithil Brahmin to rehabilitate Bhagin and their daughter in their Maternal village. So, my grandmother and my father were given a home and cultivated land there.

My father joined as a primary teacher in 1925 at Dumka. I was born in Dumka on 23 Dec 1951. As I grew up, I had a lot of affection with Parmanpur rather than with my ancestral place Ganouli. I started to think that this was my village as everyone had. My father always took me there. It was 110 km from Dumka. I remember that I saw Parmanpur for the first time in 1957. My father took me everywhere and introduced me.

I bowed my head to the elders and took their blessings. My Kaka and Kaki (Uncle and Aunty) with my cousins were living there.

Pandit Maharudra Jha was younger than my father. They were perfect in wrestling. Some many friends and relatives used to practice wrestling in the Mangoes Garden. But it all became the story of wrestling. They all left their wrestling. Now the Wrestling Akhada is used by young. I had no idea of wrestling. Pandit Maharudra Jha opened a Vyayamshala in the corner of his house. Being an old person he took the tough exercise at 3 o’clock morning. He had three sons Krishna, Shobha, and Vijay. One by one they took exercises and went to Wrestling Arena. Everyone had got one cow. After doing exercise they milked them separately and had sufficient milk. I intended to learn the skill but I had no Langot. I expressed my view to my uncle (KAKKA)—-“KAKKA! I would like to learn this skill.”

“No problem, get up early in the morning, do the routine work, and join the physical exercise in Vyayamshala.” —- Pandit Maharudra Jha permitted me. He was a very kind-hearted and disciplined man. He further instructed me, —–“Lakshman! After doing exercise you will have milk here with my sons. And you will have everything here. Tell to your parents that you will stay here under my observation.”Bhairav had been doing this for many years. He was senior to me in this field. I cultivated a lot from him. The YOGA was not known and it was not popular in 1957 but Pandit Maharudra Jha was my real YOGA teacher. I salute him.
