It was Halloween night, in Louisiana, my favorite day of the year. I was putting on my costume, a short, frilly, light pink dress, with a sweetheart neckline. A hot pink sash going from a shiny, gold belt around my waist, over my right shoulder, and tied behind my back. My shoes were these pink diamond-encrusted high heels and my luscious, long, golden hair was loosely sitting upon my back. I stood there, admiring myself in my tall, glass mirror; I was convinced that I looked like barbie. "Julie you better get going or there won't be any candy left to take."

"Coming mum" I replied, it was time to head out and show everyone my costume. I grabbed my glossy, coral backpack and strapped it over my shoulders, I also took my silver, sequined candy bag. These shiny disks felt rough against my hands, but they looked dazzling and my face broke out into a smile whenever I played with them. Just then, mum walked into the room, her face was as red as a tomato, her hands on her hips, her hazel eyes were staring right at me,

"I better get going," I said nervously as I rushed out.

I went to every house in the neighborhood, each one decorated with sparkly, orange lights and fake, creepy, black spiders, crawling up their white, silk webs. In the corner of my eyes, I noticed two girls and two boys, sitting there on the street. They looked hungry and tired, their clothes were torn and dusty, they also smelled putrid.

'I can't just leave them there I thought to myself. I took a handful of candy, making sure that it was a large amount, Twizzlers, starbursts, Cadbury chocolate, coca colas and so many more. I walked up to the poor kids and gave it to them. "Here you go," I said to them.

" But we can't take these, they're yours" spoke a quiet, shy girl who sat there on the ground, with no expression on her face, but I knew she wanted them. " I am giving them to you, you need them more than me," I told the girl. As soon as I said those words, a wide smile spread across her face showing her jagged teeth, " oh thank you," she said beaming at me, looking grateful. "I am Libby," she said.

" Nice to meet you Libby, my name is Julie." I waved goodbye to Libby and her friends and strode off.

I visited a few more houses, and afterward, my candy bag was filled to the brim. Just as I was about to head home, I saw a flash of light from the forest, no one else seemed to notice, but a strange feeling was buzzing through me and I decided that I should go check it out. It was hard to walk in heels, my feet felt sore and were filled with blisters. The forest was dark and creepy, the tall red and orange colored leaves on the trees covered most of the starry, night sky, but I could just make out the faint silhouette of the glossy, white, full moon. I sat down on a rock next to a tree. I saw the flash of light again, but this time it was bigger and brighter. I was close. Just then, I remembered that I packed a backup pair of shoes in my backpack, in case I didn't want to wear the heels anymore. I took out my backup pair of shoes. They were flat shoes in a red wine color. I kept on walking towards the light and finally arrived at the source. Once I got there, I was astounded by what I saw. There was an old, wooden house in the clearing in the forest, it was a small house with a porch upfront with old, tattered, black chairs, but the thing that surprised me the most was what was on top of the house. Above the house, there was a red flying saucer.

The saucer was ginormous, there was a glass window upfront, there was a metal rim covering all the edges and curves of the saucer, just the sight of it made me stop in my tracks. I was sweating and my heartbeat so quickly I was convinced that it was going to pop out from my chest. A beam of light came down from the saucer, and I saw two people coming down with it. Without a thought, I dashed, and hid behind a tree, the aliens came down. They were girls, one had brown hair the other black, they were both wearing green shirts with 'destruction' engraved on them in maroon, they were wearing denim jeans, their shoes were blood red, for a second I thought it was real blood. As the girls turned around, I saw that their eyes were completely black, it was as if I was staring into a black hole. The same question kept rummaging through my mind, what were those girls doing here?
