Janjira fort is an abandoned fort in Mumbai near Ali Baug. Till our independence more than 5000 families lived there. Janjira was located in the middle of a sea. There was a village Rajpuri, at the sea shore. After some years some families decided to move and leave Janjira. The children were very sad because they used to play there and enjoy. Their parents were more sad as Janjira was their birth place and they had to leave it.

Five boats started together from Janjira and on their way they started singing and laughing together. In the 5th boat there were two brother and sister a family of three members and an old couple. The girl’s name was Meena she noticed a hole in the boat. She knew that slowly their boat would drown. She had a red handkerchief. As we know red colour is the sign of danger. Some families had reached the sea shore. She waved her handkerchief to the people 0n the sea shore. They realized she was saying her boat was in danger. So they came with their boats to save other’s life. This is how the alertness of a girl saved so many lives.
