Love

She didn't know what to think, expect or believe. All she knew that she was there, gazing at him. With him, her mind was oblivious to anyone but him. She hardly noticed the darkness, dotted with stars, which enveloped them. The occasional hoot of the grey beast went unnoticed.

The trees swayed and danced in the cool autumn breeze, to no effect. All she heard, was the deafening silence. The silence of soul. The silence of love. She gazed at him with shimmery eyes. He flashed his familiar smile at her. She linked her arm in his, a small smile dancing on her lips. She was ecstatic. Drawn to his same, lovely smile she had grown used to, ever since she met him. She kept gazing into his eyes, he kept smiling at her. Yes, the same smile. The same smile which she saw on his lips, when she buried him five days ago.
