"I love you." Three words, two people, and one feeling shared. That is what Kaimio sought, what he craved above all else: love.

Throughout his whole life, Kaimio felt like an emotional outsider. He never had any close friends, a blood family, or even just a crush. He was (as far as he was concerned) alone. And that deeply troubled him like nothing else.

So when Mikala said those words to him, his deeply desired words, time and familiarity be damned, he became hers: her sweetheart, her fiancé, her "lover." And it had been nice, so nice. Waking up to her slumbering face, tending to her every need and whim. He had been born to love her; born to serve. That was all until Kaimio found a strand of brown on his pillow.

His hair was black.

Naturally, he would have to confront Mikala now. Confront his unfaithful "spouse" and... end things. Yes, he'd have to leave her, as all cheaters deserved to be left. Kaimio would leave his Mikala. Her Kaimio was... leaving.

Her Kaimio was leaving?

No, no, no. He couldn't leave her. He was hers. He had promised to be hers till death did them part, till life ended; until they both ended.

He would have to die before he left Mikala, because otherwise... he'd have to go back to his old life; a life of wondering wandering. One where he could only dream of love and affection, of togetherness and attention. That was, he would if he didn't return to his adoptive father, the one who suggested he give up his search for love in favor of becoming more self-sufficient.

Kaimio would definitely die instead.

So then the question became how he'd do it; how would Kaimio die? How would Kaimio Kamake once again avoid personal growth in favor of his zealous affection, his quiet obsession?

The answer was obvious to him.

He'd kill Mikala and let her probable struggles to live kill him. They'd both die, Goddess and Worshiper, and both experience what their false love gave them: pain. That was the only end fitting for a maggot like him and a snake like her.

It was what they got for clinging to each other in such a way. For their imperfect love, for their ignored lackings of personal character. A shared lie that killed them both on the inside and outside, gradually but surely.
