Love Like A Melody

Being intervened in the quest to find the purpose in life and explore the existence of inexpressible diverse forms of relationship, Olivia was trapped in a dilemma to answer what did love really meant to her. Today she was in her favorite cafe-DEMER after a long break from college. Randomly exchanged glances with a sweet little girl conversing with her mother. Hey mommy! What does Valentine really mean? My little daughter Valentine is the day to express love and gratitude towards each other, thanking people who are always confronting you and supporting to overcome difficulties, always being together even in harder times. Someone who you really love and feel immense joy with and a sense of belonging is none than the other but your Valentine. To this context, the girl replied-Just like you MOMMY. You are always by my side. Both of them hugged each other. This conversation compelled Olivia to ask the same question to her inner-self. What does really Valentine mean? And the answer was not so obvious as she thought. Spending every fourth weekend with her mom, was that the time she was with her Valentine or her priority for friendship was the one? Valentine isn’t celebrated on a specific day but it is something you experience every day; a soothing peaceful mind is what one aspires. Dreams are those fruitful visions which let you encounter your own capabilities, potential and in Olivia’s case, it was her enduring strength to pop out as an unarmed fighter. There is a mesmerizing line from the book- “THE ALCHEMIST” BY PAULO COHELO-All you need to think promptly is that- “every second of the search is an encounter with God”. I always wonder about being in the wrong place, searching for the brittle moment of light. Expeditiously Olivia realized that it was indeed easy to give commands to others but to cope up with destiny full of challenging scenarios (continuously checking your capabilities, even questioning your potential) and do a major change in yourself is as tough as attempting to do something next to impossible. It has been a long time since Olivia had confederated with her best friends Michael and Jessica. Coincidentally Michael was passing through the same way and sees her. He immediately approaches her excitedly. After generous greetings, a note of silence embarked. Michael through your Instagram post it seems that you are really enjoying the company of new friends but you look dissembled. The girl in the photos right next to you seems diligent. I haven’t met her personally but I can assure you that her feelings are true. Michael commends-I am a bit unsure, though it’s true that she admires me as her lover. Michael, I believe love is not a feeling but it’s a relationship as feelings change constantly but the relationship starts with total acceptability. Love means to care and be daring enough to accept the flaws. It means to cherish all those perfect imperfections which may seem weird and crazy, and that craziness binds you more and more. But in order to attain total acceptability, you need to accept your own insecurities. Michael replies-yes, my ignoramus flaws which always make me go insane. She just reminds me of my perfect imperfections. Their order arrives with a smooth lavender colored paper note inscribed with lines- “Love is more about devotion, A Devotion towards accepting the other as a whole”. The mesmerizing soothing lines emphasized the harmonious breeze of true love. Olivia conspicuously commented- Accepting flaws only treasures out true love. And I love to be partially single because I am in love with myself and it will be so beautiful to fill that vacant missing part one day by a mellifluous soul just like the enchanting chirp of the bird singing in a cheerful tone spreading the evergreen charm everywhere. Olivia after talking to you I feel an expression of tranquility and I have understood that it is the flaws that make us unique. Each and every emotion needs to be felt but doing it in balance is what life all about. Olivia happily exclaims the incident she experienced today and both of them enjoyed the extravagant Americano with a splendid conversation of their inner voice.

But life is all about unimagined situations and something quite pleasant was going to happen in her life providing her opportunity to stand out for herself and realizing her specialty. Fortunately, after a fruitful wait of one month, she received a mail from “The Social House” about being shortlisted at Poetry, Storytelling event. Out of 1500 applications, she was one of the 12 performers. She rehearsed her poem on the day prior to her event. She was enthusiastic but quite nervous at the same time. Her grandfather decided to accompany her but she was missing her mom on the day of her performance but she was well aware of the everlasting mesmerizing memories she was going to take with her which would definitely result in boosting up her self-esteem especially self-believe which she had lost due to drowned awful past. They decided to take the metro route to reach her event venue: The Social House, Adjacent Burger,31/3, Double Storey, Ground Floor, Ashok Nagar, Tilak Nagar, New Delhi. On her way at the metro station, a black color board captures her attention on which some words were crafted in white bold fonts-HAVE YOU DECIDED? STILL CONFUSED!

 She looks it in dilemma and after mere sight her inner heart abruptly spoke that “Life is not about confusion or listening to others more than you but it’s about fighting your inner fear of failure”. The fear of failure always restricts you from standing out for something you believe, something that makes you unique because you don’t want to be wrong about your truly believed possessions. It not about right or wrong but resisting the insecurities and rising up just like a bottle’s cork bloats out of inner pressure and when it comes out one can experience the solitude taste. Those special traits may be considered against norms and already existing principles but vibrant energy acts as an initiative for something which is restricted by others. You need to stand out as rigid as a rock when no one even stands with you. As she was continuously gazing at the board, she finds out that ‘YES’ is always above ‘NO’ and this removed all her nervousness and gave her self-confidence and strengthened her internally. That was the exact moment when she was able to overcome her past grief where everyone made fun of her thoughts and voice. She had clearly understood that there will always be giant nerve-wracking scavengers immensely hurting small birds but one has to be strong enough not to be slightly swept away by such monstrous creatures. Even her whole journey was cheering for her new initiative towards herself that she had always loved and admired. Her first poet public appearance at Poetry, Storytelling, and Chai, SOCIAL HOUSE made her realized the ignited energy trapped within herself which must surely be expressed. From being an anchor in college cultural fest to realizing the fr-enemies surrounding, Olivia discovered the simmering jewel granted in possession by the spiritual power. Back at home she glances at her certificate of the best performer and decides to write her daily journal.

Dear Explorer,

Today was the best evening of my life. I was finally able to perceive the power of self-love and boost up my lost self-esteem. All the reckoning incidents that occurred in my life somehow depreciated my self-confidence. Though it took a lot of time to realize my passion but my experience of today taught me – “Never forgets the reason for your dreams just because of some hurdles. The obstacles should never let your spark go away.” One must remember that we have a history as a subject, not the future. Life can only be understood backward, but it must be lived forward says Siren Kierkegaard (Danish Philosopher). You will also find people who challenge your determination, but the existence of devils is a blessing as it gives birth to true superheroes and lifetime legends worth remembering. 

Every emotion needs to be felt but in equal balance. Sometimes I feel that life is all about grooming yourself and inclining your thoughts towards finding that balance. Your happiness and survival should never depend on anyone in this world but on ourselves solely. Self- exploration is primarily important because if you don’t evolve yourselves then only your growth will be hindered. Life is not measured by the breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away. Olivia had finally learned to love herself and cherish everything she possessed because she had realized the reason behind her existence was a message of the eternal divine to emerge her out as solely bliss of holiness. The importance of belief in self-expression even varies to a great extent from people surrounding us and her beauty of self-exploration made her realized all her special traits.
