Looks Are Deceiving..
It was in the month of January 2019 while I was returning to my pg from home. I stayed in a pg near my office because it was so hard to travel to the office from my home. And usually, at weekends, I use to visit my parents. So on one of the weekends, I visited my parents, stayed there for 2 days, enjoyed all the pamperings and then decided to return to my pg.
My brother dropped me at the bus stop and left. Then I got on the bus. The bus was so empty and silent and it made me happy that I'm going to sit at the window seat. From childhood window seat was my favourite thing. So as I wish, I sat at the window seat, enjoying a nice breeze, good weather and I started listening to songs on my mobile.
After some time, people one by one got onto the bus and the bus was almost crowded with enough people. Then an old aged man, nearly in his 50's came onto the bus. His dress was so dirty, his hair was so messed up, a lot of shirt buttons are missing, and he haven't worn good slippers too. On seeing him, I was so scared that he is going to sit near me. So I right away covered the whole seat with my luggage. In spite of all those masterplans, he asked me to give him a seat because there was no seat left on the bus.
I was so irritated that he sat with me. After a few minutes, the driver and conductor came in and the bus started moving. I don't know why, I had a feeling that he's going to steal my belongings based on his looks. So to stick with my intuition, I was more and more carefully watching over my luggage. As the time flew, the conductor came to give tickets. So I searched for my wallet to give me money. But I didn't have it in my luggage. I searched it in all my bags and I started panicking. It was not there. So then I called my mom said that the wallet was missing. After searching, she told me that I left the wallet in my home itself.
The conductor came and he asked for the tickets again, I told him that I left my wallet at home. He didn't listen to me and he started shouting at me. Literally, my eyes were filled with tears and I was really helpless. Then the person near me came out of nowhere, gave the conductor 20rs without even thinking. Then the conductor gave me the ticket and left. I was so embarrassed by my behaviour estimating someone by their look.
That person after some time smiled at me and said something that broke me into pieces. He said "Even my daughter is like you. Even she keeps forgetting her wallet and stuff. Don't worry about this ma. " That was really a slap on my face.
From then, I have decided to never estimate a person by their looks.
