It was a dark night and the moonlight shined upon the forest below. In this forest, on a hill, was a dark castle. Around this castle was small cabins and few tree houses.

A girl with a black cloak as dark as the night sky walked towards the castle. Her hood was on, to hide her face with the shadow that the hood gave. She stopped at the front gate of the dark castle and looked up at it making sure it was the right castle. The girl knew she would not be able to get through the gates unless a guard let her pass.

The girl took her hand out from under her cloak and placed it on the lock of the gate. Oddly, there were no guards at the gate. The girl's hand glowed white for a split second, then the light faded and the lock was unlocked. She pushes the gates open and heads towards a doorway into the castle.

Once she entered the castle, guards could be seen walking amongst the dark halls. The girl hid behind a corner waiting for the guards to pass. The guards soon passed and the girl continued on walking. She got to the thrown room and opened the door that had a slight creek that woke a sleeping King which was seated upon a large thrown in the middle of the room.

The King's cloak was not the red that you normally see on their cloaks, but it was a shade of black. The king looked at the girl and asked, "how is it you have come in here?" The girl replied, "that is none of your concern King Lauren." The king looked shocked that the girl knew his name. He asked, "why are you here?" The girl answered, "I'm here to help you gain the power you want to have." The king gave a smirk and laughed a bit, "how is it a young girl such as yourself would possess such power?" The girl held her hand out. A ball of flame formed floating above her hand.

The king was shocked by this. He stared at the ball of flame until it disappeared by her closing her fist. The king said, "I see you do possess power. I'm guessing you know what my plan is to use that power for?" The girl nodded slowly. The king nodded back and said, "It is to kill my son, for only I can be the king, of course you knew this already." The girl nods again and said, "my power can do many things sir, but remember I do have limits like all power." The king nodded and replied, "alright. Come back here tomorrow morning and we will see what you can do. You will perform your power in front of me and my son. He will, of course, think it's just a show for his enjoyment."

The girl bowed and said, "I will be here tomorrow, sir." She turned around and started heading towards the door. The king asked before she could leave, "what is your name?" The girl answered while stopping, "Lindsey. That is my name." The king nodded and said, "be on your way, Lindsey."

Lindsey headed out the doors and out of the castle, through the gates. She sighed as she took her hood off, revealing her face. She had bright blue eyes as bright as the ocean and dark black hair as dark at the night sky that still covered the forest. Lindsey's hair was in a low bun with a small group of her long bangs not in her bun. She wore a black dress that went to her ankles and she wore black shoes that were dirty from the forest floor.
