STORY

LIFE IS OURS, LIVE IT AND LEAD IT

In a grand big and beautiful city, there lived a girl called Angelica. Lara is her mother and Joseph is her father. Angelica's mother and father were a very lovely couple and they took care of her very well. Angelica’s mother and father fulfilled all her wishes. She had a good American accent and she was also very well versed in speaking languages like Bengali, Hindi, and English. She also had an interest in making posters for social causes and also participated in many protests. Her aim was to become an IAS officer and help society but as days passed by everything changed in her life. Angelica was very good at her studies and she stood first in every competition that she participated in. The family had a very good name in society and lead a contented life. Her mother was an entrepreneur owning a bakery and her father was working in a corporate company. Angelica’s father was a member of more than two voluntary clubs and her mother used to deliver free cakes to many of the orphanages. Her mother's bakery was a very well known and well-established bakery in the society. Angelica loved the atmosphere of the bakery and she used to more than 5 hours a day in the bakery. She loved the cakes which her mother make and she used to eat more than 6 cakes per day. She used to the sandwiches which her mother makes at 5 p.m. in the bakery. Even though they were respected by the members of society a particular group of members kept an eye on them and they also discouraged their social deeds. But the family did not consider their words of discouragement they continued their work wholeheartedly. Angelica’s family lived in a gated community and their neighbors used to discourage them like “You keep on serving for the society one day you will stand without anything in the society”. The family's reply was it is our duty to serve the society and take care of the poor and needy and for hill station that we will face any obstacles. The neighbors laughed at them and left the place. The family used to spend their holidays in the. When she was 15 Angelica and her parents while traveling on the narrow roads of hill station they met with an accident and in that accident, Angelica lost both her parents within a fraction of a second. The doctors tried their level best but they were not able to save their lives. On hearing the news of the death of her parents Angelica fell unconscious and she was in that stage for more than an hour. She was not able to accept the fact and fought with the doctors. She was very affected by that incident and she was not able to come out of it. She was not able to accept the fact that her parents are not alive. Even at the time of sorrow, the neighbors kept on uttering the words of discouragement. They giggled and told her that “Your father had served for the society and the society and the society has served him very well” and now he would have been fulfilled right they questioned her like this and left the place.

At that time she decided to start saving for herself and to stop helping society. She canceled all the members of her father in the voluntary clubs. She changed her attitude toward helping others but her mind and heart took a little time to accept it. But after few days she completely changed herself into a new personality. The thoughts of her parents were always in her mind. A few years passed away she completed her studies and then she got a job in an authorized company. Incidentally, she met her old neighbors and spent some time with them, and had a coffee. So many years passed away many things changed but their attitude of taking I’ll about others does not change. This was the mind voice of Angelica when she was speaking to them. Her neighbors started asking her many questions about her lifestyle. Their main question to her was Are you helping the society like your father or you stopped that?. Her reply to them was no I had kept a full stop to all my social deeds. This time she expected a good answer from them. But their reply was oh no have you stopped everything? Why? What's the reason behind it? Your father did so many good and social deeds. It was very helpful for society and he lived as an example. But you his daughter living a very selfish life you only care for yourself and not for others. I never expected this answer from you replied the neighbors. Angelica was very shocked on hearing their reply. She was struck and her mind was blank. She was shocked and spellbound for a fraction of a second. She questioned them very angrily you chameleons you spoke ill about my father when he did social deeds and now you are speaking ill about me when I am not doing social deeds. From this, I understood a very important matter that whatever we do to society the neighbors keep on discouraging us and they will never allow us to grow. Till we die and even after our death the world keeps on discouraging but we have to live life to the fullest without taking others thoughts into our minds and lead the life as it goes according to our wish till we are alive.
