Life in alleyways

Life in alleyways

Street lamps were burning bright in the alleyway.

Moths flying around them.

Alleyway was quite that specific night.

"Don't anyone have any business tonight?", I wondered to myself, walking through the alleyway.

Standing in front of my house, negotiating myself to go in or flaneuring around the urban streets for a bit longer.

Holding this thought in my mind I decided to walk a bit more.

Looking up at the sky I saw tops of houses, shops, and buildings bathed in the soft moonlight.

The sky was clear, but not much stars. "I can count them", I thought. But didn't bother to.

The pale white light of the moon and burning tangerines of the street lamps. The soft sounds of the night insects and the quietness of the urban city made me feel a strange calm.

It felt like I was freed from the laws of living as a human and had transformed into a higher being.

After crossing the alleyway and entering the main street. It felt like I had used a portal and entered into a different realm.

A realm in which I was not a superior being anymore. I was just another one. But for whatever reason, I will never forget that short walk around the alley.
