Know what your recovering from

You can't recover until you know what you're recovering from 

This is a big one, there are so many people walking around like the walking wounded.

They are carrying past hurts from childhood. They have scars and wounds that never really healed so they go around and hurt other people. One of my favorite sayings is hurt people, hurt people. 

This is so true, you are hurt and you react to that hurt

and you can't recover until you know what you're recovering from. That's where the work comes in because facing your demons is not easy. You need to be real with yourself. Brutally honest, you must own your own shit and be willing to forgive others even when no apology is given.

Yeah, that part..that's the work I was talking about and that so many people will not face within themselves. They need to raise their hand and admit to failure, to hurting others, for owning their own crappy behavior and that's hard to do. But if you are truly looking to heal yourself you need to do this.

Many people had horrible childhoods, abusive parents, grew up in the system or maybe their lives just looked perfect from the outside but were really a dysfunctional mess on the inside. Some women I know wonder why they can't find a man and many times it is because you're bringing that last hurt into this new relationship. Blaming all men on one man's actions. 

So today my friends remember we all have past wounds, so many of us are broken and need to do work on ourselves. It's not a bad thing, we need to remove the stigma of mental health. You go to a doctor when you're sick, but people have such an issue if that sickness is in your head and your heart. 

We all can be better if we do the work on ourselves and like I say at the end of every blog only you can be the change you want to see.
