Tanya was busy on a call, a mail notification popped up on her laptop. She glanced at it and deleted it without even reading the content. She thought it might be a mail about an advertisement about loans, Credit cards, or real estate.

That evening Sheetal messaged her, "Rashmi is on call, Please join the conference call".

Tanya rolled her eyes and messaged back, "I am not interested to listen to her you guys carry on".

Tanya remembered her school days.

Rashmi barged into the classroom and shouted at Tanya.

Tanya "Who asked you to tell my mom about my relationship with Charan??".

Tanya was baffled, "Ahhh!!! What are you saying?? I didn't tell anything to your mom".

Rashmi shouted, "Shut up Tanya, Only you and Anisha knew about my boyfriend. I spoke to Anisha and she swore on her mother and told me she did not tell anything to my mom. You were always advising me to leave him, It must be you who told her.

Tanya lost her cool: Crap!!!! Why will I tell her? It's your personal stuff and I give a damn about it. I don't care if you go around that bastard.

Rashmi raised her hand to slap her, Tanya caught her hand.

Tanya: Don't you dare!!! Even I can raise my hand on you. This will be the last day Rashmi, Never ever again show me your face. It's over, I don't like to continue my friendship with you anymore.

Two besties were separated, It was Anisha who played mind games between friends.

After 15 years......

Tanya was busy cooking a halwa for her son Suhan. There was a notification on WhatsApp. It was her school friend Sheetal. Tanya was shocked to read the message, "Rashmi passed away today morning, May her soul find a purpose again"

For a moment Tanya could not believe it, She read it again to confirm the news. She dialed Sheetal immediately.

"Hello...Sheetal".

Sheetal: Haan Tanya, tell me.

Tanya: Sheetal, What happened to Rashmi??

Sheetal: Why are you so bothered??

Tanya: Sheetal, Don't be stupid. I had differences with her but never wished that she die so soon.

Sheetal: She succumbed to covid. 15 days back she tested positive, She was shifted to ICU a week back. The infection had spread to the lungs and she was not recovering. Finally 3 days back she sent a mail to everyone including you to talk to her in a video call, That was her last wish. I thought you will forget your differences with her and join the meeting, but you continued to maintain your distance from her. Throughout the call, she aske100many times about you. She wanted to apologize to you But, you never gave her a chance".

Tanya was spellbound, her mind was racing through emotions. 

She remembered every moment she spent with Rashmi. Rashmi's smile and pretty face were haunting Tanya. Tanya felt guilty for not fulfilling Rashmi's last wish.

Sheetal spoke to her, "Tanya, If at all you had opened the mail, You would know how much Rashmi was sorry for misbehaving with you. She did not do it intentionally, It was just a misunderstanding and she tried a lot to reach you. You never gave her a chance to speak. Now it's too late, She is gone forever. All you can do is just pray for her soul to rest in peace. One thing Tanya, We must be in touch with everyone, At least to give them an opportunity to apologize or clear the misunderstanding they had with us. It's good for everyone, In the end, we will die peacefully, We will be satisfied that people were given an opportunity to make up things.

Tears dropped on her cheeks. Tanya wiped her tears and checked her friends and relatives and dropped a message to them.
