Irritating Neighbour

It was Saturday, 5 in the evening after completing all her work she leisurely sat and switched on the TV. The door bell rang. She lazily got up and opened the door. She was upset by seeing the neighbour.

“Is your cable working?” the neighbour rushed into the house.

“Yeah, didi,” she answered with a disappointing tone.

“Where is your husband?” ‘huh……she started again’ she thought to herself and answered, “He is working didi.”

“Why he is working on Saturday?” the neighbour started interrogating her. The neighbour, she is the most irritating woman in the whole apartment. Everyone is frustrated by her too interfering character. She is always curious about other's life. The neighbour spent about an hour with her. After the irritating neighbour went, she locked the door and sat on the couch.

She started browsing and found something interesting on the T.V. It was a horror film, she doesn’t like horror films but didn’t find anything good so she continued watching it. She was all alone in the flat, by holding remote in one hand closed her eyes with the other. She was watching the movie within the gap between her fingers. She was seriously watching the movie and she jerked with a sudden blast, there was a power cut. By seeing the fire sparkles, she ran into the balcony. There she saw the transformer blast and slowly all the people surrounding it. She left the balcony door open and came inside, after searching for 15 mins she found the emergency light. She kept the light on the table and lied on the couch. Then she took the phone and turned on the music

She heard some sound from the kitchen, so she turned off the music and went in to the room by holding the light. The light turned off due to low battery and she couldn’t see anything. But she again heard the sound, all the windows were closed but the curtains started moving. She stood there by watching it. A slight panic started inside her. Everything was pitch black around her and her heartbeat increased. She could feel the tension in her nervous. Even a slightest sound was like a thunder sound to her ears. She walked slowly step by step and sat on the couch, took the mobile. The mobile got switched off and she cursed her fate. The flat was filled with darkness and silence. She could hear her breath and also the tick-tock of the seconds hand in the clock. The sweat from the hair rolled down the face and fell on her neck. As the time was passing by, she got panicked and frightened because of the various thoughts running in her head. She started remembering all the horror movie scenes. She closed her eyes tightly. She sat like a statue without moving an inch from her place. After few seconds she opened her eyes and she was scared to death by seeing a shadow in her balcony. Then she heard a door bell and her heart beat stopped for a millisecond. She realised after hearing it again and she ran like a missile. Within half a second she was near the door. She opened the door.

She saw a person standing in front of her but couldn’t see the face due to darkness. She felt that she was going to get a heart attack. The person slowly put on the torch light, which she was carrying with her. This was the first time in all these months, she was happy by seeing the most irritating neighbour of the apartment.

“What are you doing?” she felt relieved even after hearing her so unpleasant, questionable and demanding voice.

“Hi! Come in,” she never invited her but at that moment she didn’t want to be alone. She thanked God for sending the neighbour.

“No, I wanted you to come downstairs, there was a...”

“Sure didi, I'm coming,” she never thought she will ever go with that annoying neighbour but that moment she felt like she was her saviour. She wiped the sweat from her face, locked the door and went with the irritating neighbour.
