Something hit my head hard when I jolted awake, just to find myself on an abandoned island. My only belonging now was a small bag containing a first-aid kit, a couple of snacks, and a knife. Recollections of the luxurious cruise I was on, and the thunderstorm that ensnared it galloped through my mind. As I looked around, all I could see was the abysmal, sapphire sea.

While trying to get up, I found my leg weighed down by a huge rock. I guess my senses had been washed away too, for there was no way I wouldn’t have felt any pain despite the blood gushing out. I somehow managed to push off the rock and haphazardly bandaged my wound.

Lush greenery surrounded me as the flamboyant flowers peeked out from behind the creepers. Snaking vines canopied my way into the forest, protecting me from the glaring rays of the sun, for which I was exceptionally grateful. However, it seemed as though the heat was slowly sucking my stamina out. I precariously perched myself on a rock overlooking a small, slithering stream that whistled with the moss-covered pebbles.

I found myself oddly comfortable in my drenched night suit, which soothed me against the scorching coastal wind. The cooing macaws, vividly splashed in red, and the mischievously playful monkeys, jumping tree to tree as if playing tag, were a sight to behold.

As I further traveled upstream and finally reached the top, dusk had spilled in. Reality dawned upon me. I had no shelter, clothes or human company. The animals that looked captivating in the morning were now wild beasts I prayed not to encounter.

I tried to rest myself against a tree trunk but as my hand slipped off its rough birch, I was falling into the water. Water encompassed me as the swirling, yawning darkness slowly swallowed me. Seeing life slip off in front of my eyes, desperation clouded me. The last silvering hope seemed to have been lost for me with a bulky throbbing against my chest, as I slowly lost consciousness.

“CUT!” The movie director decreed.

“Beautiful acting this time, let’s pack up for today.”

I promptly changed out of my soaked costume and picked up my script, prepared to head out.
