Inspiration is vital to success in anyone’s life. The people, whom I consider my mentors have taught me three things which have become the motto of my life: The importance of having a goal, leading a disciplined life (which can be difficult but not impossible) and the importance of a powerful mindset. Success is what everyone aims for in life ultimately. Inspiration is the first step on the ladder to success.

Cooking has always been one of my greatest passions. My grandmother has been my source of inspiration since the beginning. I have watched her cook since I was very little. When I eat food cooked by her, it feels heavenly. She showed me how food can make all the emotions come alive. She told me that if I wanted to pursue this passion I would have to compete with myself. I used to think that food was just a necessity for human survival until she changed my thought process. Cooking not only gives you pleasure but also satisfies all the five senses. The aroma, the imagery, the way food is presented, all these factors convinced me that cooking may not be easy, it may require a lot of commitment and experience, but the fruit is always delicious. My grandmother’s dedication to this art form is the reason why I took a risk and chose cookery as my elective subject while my classmates aimed for something more academical. She enforced this quote in my mind by Robert T. Kiyosaki “The biggest risk a person takes is to do is nothing.” Later, I found myself excelling in this field and making my parents proud, while she kept encouraging me at every step.

Despite my busy schedules I have managed to be true to another one of my passions, dance. Tushna Dallas , the founder of ‘The School of Classical Ballet and Western Dance’ is elegance personified for me. I learn ballet at her school. At seventy five today, she has the energy and motivation of a fresher wanting to raise the bar more and more.

I learn ballet at her school where we are taught to perform the dance while being at ease. This can be so deceptive because it hides the tremendous strength that this art form requires while bringing across the dance with grace and artistry. Whenever Miss Tushna takes the class, we have the pleasure to witness her excellence in the art which can only come through due to self discipline and love for this dance. I wish to be like her to achieve the excellence and elegance in whatever I choose to pursue. It is worthy to note that in spite of achieving so much and becoming one of the best in the field, she is humble and grateful at all times. I love her for her humility and her hunger to learn more and more, even at this age. From her I have learnt that one should always remain a student in life trying to learn new things. One should not settle for anything less than perfect in whatever one pursues. In order to be the best, one has to be perfect and ‘perfection comes from passion’. And through the hard work one can achieve and get the best out of oneself in life.

Miss Tushna is truly my role model and imparting values has been an integral part of her coaching. I know for sure that if I follow in her footsteps, I will also excel like her.

My mother has always been my friend and my main source of inspiration. She has always been there for me, to guide me and show me the right path. When I didn’t have faith in myself she believed in me. She showed me pictures of herself getting awarded by her teachers and principal and getting various scholarships for her hard work. She has inspired me to show her that I would never let her down and I would try to work twice as hard as she did to follow in her footsteps. She has inspired me to excel and give my best in any task I’m given. I’m inspired to be responsible, dedicated and efficient. She has also inspired me to see the good in everyone and be as forgiving as I can.

My father is also my hero. He is the one who inspires me to be pure from inside, to be strong like a rock and overcome my fears no matter what or who is in front of me. He has taught me to take risks and experience new things in life. Only because of his strong support and motivation I was able to sky dive from a plane at nine thousand feet! Initially though I was petrified but then his words of immense encouragement just made me take the leap and by far that jump has been the most unforgettable memory of my life.

It has been said “to be inspired is great, to inspire in incredible”. We are all surrounded by such people who help us discover our inner strengths and overcome our weaknesses. It is indeed a blessing to have these extra ordinary souls in our lives. God is around us in the form of these persons who make us identify the God within us by constantly preparing us to take up new challenges of life. These are the few people who have been a great source of inspiration, energy, courage and purity in my life.
