If You Could Turnback Time

Ever wish you could rewrite or turnback time? When you could go back to an easier time, to a happy place when it was so much easier? I don't know about you but last week for some reason was an especially hard day. 

It wasn't anyone I lost anniversary or even a birthday. It was an average Thursday. Nothing extraordinary happened during the day but somehow I was so sad. I thought about my life and how I longed to go back, to be carefree and in love with my first love. 

I was sad about choices I made at the time. I wanted this big life, this fancy life that growing up poor I dreamt of. That somehow having money would make that better and so I walked away from the love of my life to go after the good life. 

Not knowing until many years later as I was in this abusive marriage that money doesn't make you happy. That you just cry yourself to sleep in a fancier house that's all. I wish I knew then what I know now. 

Sometimes you have to allow yourself the feelings, you need to embrace the sadness. Have a cry, listen to old songs, allow yourself to go back and relive the memories. Because those memories are some of the greatest memories of your life. You should embrace them and thank them for where they brought you to. 

Unfortunately you can't change the past, and even if I could I couldn't imagine my life without my girls. So I wouldn't change a thing but sometimes, just sometimes on days like these, I dream.

So today my friends remember that the choices you make today will affect the rest of life. Sometimes when you are young, you don't want to listen to others because you think you know it all. But I am here to tell you that age does bring wisdom. Wisdom, that comes from lessons that you learn from being hurt, or for choosing the wrong way or wrong person. 
But as we grow and learn, we must all try to be the change we want to see.
