How Heavy Rains Bring Merry Life- 3

On the dark streets lighted with flickering lamps, walked a young woman with a bag filled with surprises, looking for fame in the middle of London. A girl as a magician seems weird but exists. She reached her old damped house which was in a very bad condition.

Apart from all the problems in her life, she tried to stay happy thinking that, 'Who doesn't have problems? I am not the only one fighting." This very thought by her demised father consoled her every time she needed it.

'Priya? What happened today?", An old voice asked as she entered the house, which was of her mother. "Nothing much," Was the answer, "and that's the problem." She said softly. "It would be ok. Your father also didn't gain fame so easily." Consoled her mother. "I know," she replied faking a 'not so worried' smile and sat on a table and practiced some of her magic tricks. 'No pains, no gains' she again tried to console herself. Her positive attitude was what I liked the most. She was a great Magician, better than her father but he had gained fame and importance quite early than her and the reason was her gender, a woman. The problem was that no one ever tried to look at her doing magic and most people criticized her. No one wanted to give her shows because they thought that No one would waste money on the show done by a girl.

Another day it was and another chance for her and she began it with a smile. "Ladies and gentlemen!" Priya tried to grab everyone's attention but sadly didn't get any. As taught by her father, she should continue with her tricks. "Okay everyone," she said and clapped, some heads turned to her. "I have got some magic tricks." As she said, many more heads turned to her. "A girl is going to show us magic tricks? Haha, very funny." A man said. "We'll see about that sir, I don't think magic differs between gender." She answered and went on, "Okay, so, every magician loves cards because those tricks are mind bobbling. I want one volunteer for this card trick. Anyone.? a few excited hands were raised which prompted 'me - me - me!' Priya chose one of them. She made a deck of cards appear. Well, it was in her sleeves but it was fabulously portrayed. She then spread the deck of cards in a way that she can't see the cards. "Pick one of the cards," she commanded the volunteer. "Don't show me and see it" She added while turning her face away. "Okay, now keep that card somewhere else... have you done it? Ok." She stacked the cards again and looked at them carefully, spreading them to look at them.

"Oh well, was this your card?" She asked the person showing the king of hearts card.

"No." was the answer. Of course, because it was the ace of spades and Priya knew it very well but she got many Boos in the meantime. She then snapped her finger and the card changed to the ace of spades

"Is this your card sir?" She asked again.

"yes!" Was the answer. Everyone was impressed and some were shocked. She showed more tricks but didn't get many audiences. The show went for a long time but then she thanked the audience which was hardly 7-8 people and relatively very few from other magicians. Everyone cheered for her as she disappeared behind a cloth. She earned very little from her audience.

As Priya counted how much she earned, suddenly, it began to rain. "oh this rain!" Priya went inside a cafe. She saw many people over there. It was the best place to show her skills. The opportunity was such that she could grab anyone's attention because the rain had stopped their life and work. I liked the way she always took things as a blessing in disguise.

"Ladies and gentlemen!" She grabbed mostly everyone's attention. "This rain had stopped everyone's life, I know. So, here I am, your magician, to surprise you with my tricks. Let's see how many of you could reveal my tricks, I would like it if anyone would do it for me as I was going to do it anyway." She said and started to show the tricks. She had a fun time engaging with her viewers and they all liked her.

"I always thought that only men could be magicians but, you proved me wrong and I am really happy about that." A boy said to her personally. Priya smiled to herself. Finally, she had got attention and proved the low mentality of people wrong.

From then, she got quite a lot of audience but still couldn't get what she wanted. She wanted many people to see her. 'everything has its own start!' She thought hard in an attempt to calm herself down.

'I can do it only if I don't give up and keep some patience.' She told herself one day as she was denied from doing a show because of her gender. Well, she never knew it was the day she was going to get the thing which she craved for; a chance. A chance to prove herself.

"Hello madam." Said a voice as Priya was passing by. "Yes?" Priya looked at him. "I saw you at the cafe that day, it was raining heavily and went there for a shelter. I liked your tricks, by the way, your and my father had been partners for a long time until his sad demise. I have a team of magicians, The Wyverns. It's not that famous but we want you to join." He told her.

"of course! I would," She replied. "Can-can I meet the members?" She asked with glee. "Anytime." Was the answer.

Now, the team had gained importance soon because of their hard work and mostly everyone knew them. Priya's life had changed and I learned one thing from her, always keep a positive approach because heavy rains could bring merry life.
