How Heavy Rains Bring Merry Life - 2
With another failed try, Daisy goes back home. "Why always?" She asked herself, sitting on a couch. Her life was no less than a mess. Daisy was a housewife whose husband lately, abandoned her and the two kids after the miscarriage of her 3rd child. Helpless, Daisy tried to find work to earn something for her family.
"Mum?" Her elder son asked. He was just 5 years, "What happened?"
"Nothing dear," She answered.
"See, I made you a drawing!" He said and showed her a drawing which was a few scribbles but one could easily tell it was his family; his father, his mother, him and his younger sister.
"Dear, it's - it's lovely!" Daisy appreciated her son's drawing and hugged him. "Is Lily asleep Paul?" She asked him.
"Yes mum, when will daddy come?" He asked hopefully.
"Never," She answered, looking down at the carpet.
"Are you - are you sure?" He asked his mother. She nodded sadly. Paul looked at his drawing for some time and tore his father out of the drawing. Daisy somehow stopped her tears and so did Paul. He threw his father's drawing in the dustbin and went to his room.
"Why did you do this? our two children!" She said to her gloomy, addressing her husband and shedding a few tears.
She calmed herself down, took a deep breath and went to her painting room once more to complete her paintings and sketches. She had hundreds of them! after all, she had been painting for 20 years. Recently, she was painting a baby covered with blood, actually dead. "I don't know why I am wasting my time on this!" She said putting her paintbrush down and rushing out of the room. "wee do - wee do - wee do!" she could hear the police's siren. She rushed outside.
"What's going on!" She yelled at the people outside. Her husband was standing with the police.
"Sir, she is the one not leaving my house!" He said.
"What? This house is mine as well! I am your wife!" Daisy protected.
"You were!" He corrected her. Daisy looked here and there in a panic.
"Leave the house right away or you'll be seen in the jail the next day." One of the policemen warned.
"My - our children!" She cried.
"Leave the children! Get out from here!" Her husband shouted at her. "Pack your things and leave!" He said again.
"You - you can't remove me like this -" She was cut off by her husband.
"Read the letter and get out!" He told her and gave an official letter to her which cleared that the house and children were his because she didn't have any job. She was ordered to leave the house. "-and take your stupid paintings as well!" He told her.
She packed her things and paintings as slowly as she could. She came out with many bags and began to leave when her children came out.
"Mum! Where are you going?" Her son asked. "Dad?"
"You can leave with her if you want but she doesn't have a house." His dad informed.
"Take care Paul, of your sister too," Daisy said to Paul. Paul rushed holding his sister's hand towards her.
"We'll go with you!" He told.
"No! Stay here and take care. I'll come back to take you two from here soon." Daisy ensured.
"Mum, are you leaving us now? But you said you'll never leave us!" Her daughter spoke, hugging her. She was just 3 years old. Little tears went down the little face.
"Leave her!" Their father commanded.
Daisy was left with no other option but to roam on the streets, helplessly. Drip - drip came the water droplets from the clouds. It rained, heavily. Daisy was distressed when she bumped into a stranger.
"Oh my! I am so sorry..." A lady said but she stopped as she saw daisy with her suitcases which fell over and revealed some of her beautiful paintings. "Are these paintings your? Oh, first let's go to a shade." She suggested.
"These paintings are mine? Yes." Daisy replied picking up her paintings. Fortunately, they weren't messed up because of their lamination. The Lady bent down to help. "No thanks! I'll Manage." Daisy stopped her, politely. She picked up her drawings and went towards a shade. She somehow managed to sleep. The next day, she woke up in front of a coffee shop. She Managed to get a job there and the owner also allowed her to stay there. She worked there for days and another heavy rain came in and a lady rushed into the coffee shop.
"Will you take anything?" Daisy asked her with a smile.
"No." the Lady answered. she looked at Daisy carefully for a moment. "I mean, yes!" She said finally.
"May I have your order ma'am?" Daisy asked her.
"First sit here." The Lady told.
"Excuse me, ma'am?" Daisy was confused.
"Sit here!" The lady forced her to sit in front of her. "You are Daisy, right?" The Lady asked.
"Yes..." Daisy replied.
"I am Neller Ken. If you remember, I met you a few days ago on a rainy night and accidentally I saw your paintings which a loved and I would like to put them in my exhibition." the Lady told.
"I - what?" Daisy couldn't digest it easily.
"Would you be my partner in my art exhibition?" She asked again.
"You - you are Neller Ken! I have heard about you. You host exhibitions all over the world!" Daisy remembered.
"Yes, and I want your paintings. I want to collaborate with you. I have thought of inviting new artists to be a part of my exhibitions. You are quite aged and experienced. From your resume, that you dropped in the rain, I got to know you've been painting for 20 years! I want you to manage it all for me. I'll pay you." She said. Dasiy agreed to it at once.
The exhibition went very well and they earned a lot of profit. Everyone liked it and it was covered in all the newspaper the next day, about the exhibition which broke all records. Everyone loved Daisy's paintings. She had everything now, fame, money and her children.
"Always remember, when life pulls you back, don't give in your faith but get ready for a launch," Daisy said at the end of her speech and smiled. Her children clapped the loudest from the crowd.
